The Hardest Post I've Had To Make

It is with shattered hearts I share the loss of our beloved Liesel.  We still can't believe it ourselves....it hurts too much to think about!

I knew when my cell phone rang very early....before 7:00 a.m. and it was our veterinarian calling.  Test results from the previous day revealed all was not well.....and never would be again.  Along with numerous issues with Liesel's stomach, came the word I most feared.   Cancer.

I don't have to tell you....my heart physically stopped...and I swear I quit breathing....I could hardly take in what I was being told.  Thankfully, Mr. Seventies was right beside me....hearing it as well.

And within seconds....our world would never be the same.....all the money & veterinary care in the world would not help our girl...the final outcome would be the same....

We spent the final hours loving on her hard.....and with the support of our veterinarian....sent her lovingly on her final journey...

Our hearts are crushed....we never expected this ending for a beautiful little soul.   Today we woke up and for the first time in 24 years.....no little patter of paws in the hallway....

She has been lovingly laid to rest with our previous dachshunds, Xena, Schatzi & Oskar.

Run free & healthy our sweet girl...until we see you again....

This has been such a trying time....with my surgery & Liesel's illness and death....I'll be stepping away from the blog for some much needed family time & reflection....

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers....
