How About A Pink Christmas?

Instead of blue....now I'm a lover of pink....so I'm crushing on all the Christmas pretty I'm seeing in the stores!  It's not for everybody....there are those who love the traditional red & green.....(not me so much)....but I love all things Christmas......whatever colours that might be....

I'm thinking of putting a tree in the master bedroom.....where I could use all things pink!!

This pink Santa just makes me smile.....

Pretty peppermint twist cushions....yes please!  And who doesn't love an adorable gingerbread man!!

Could you envision having Christmas dinner on these pretty pink dishes?  Fabulous!!!

I thoroughly love the idea of pink for Christmas....

I admit whenever I see dachshund anything....I get a pang in my heart.  Like when I saw this adorable throw...I'm still processing the loss of our beloved Liesel....

I was browsing around Winners one afternoon.....most of their Hallowe'en decor is marked down....I couldn't resist this Doug the Ghost Dog candle!   He was marked down to $8.....(the head is removable for burning the candle inside)....

I mentioned in an earlier post about the walking about town Ghost Tour we planned to take in.....it was held this past Saturday evening.   After a delicious meal at a local pub....we made our way to the meeting point....and our "gravedigger" tour guide was fantastic!!  He was so good at sharing amazing Island ghost stories in the various points we visited....

The tour took about an hour and a half......the weather was dark & cool.....perfect for strolling about!!

Mr. Seventies has been busy cleaning out the gardens.....trimming shrubs, covering plants for the winter...we've enjoyed an amazing harvest of corn this year....he tied the stocks at the front of the house...and will carve our pumpkin this week....

Thanks so much for spending a bit of your time with me today....please join me later over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphis Monday and again tomorrow at  https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesdays!

A Walk About "Spookytown"

One evening, just as it was getting dark....Mr. Seventies & I took a stroll around the city taking in some "spootacular" homes.....all decked out for Hallowe'en!!

One favourite "haunt" is an awesome B & B....they decorate the yard & front with some amazing Hallowe'en awesomeness....

Pour a cup of your favourite beverage.....and join us on our walk....

This home...I'm sure you could see the lights from space....they cast such a luminous glow on the street....

Can you just imagine the amount of work and number of hours it takes to decorate outside your home.....so many people get to enjoy their hard work.....

There were a couple of scary gargoyles....two little guys were having a blast taking everything in.....not the least bit afraid....they were so cute!

A couple of creepy witches keeping a suspenseful eye on things....

I love this home....the simplicity yet the creepiness....

This is another home that does an awesome job of decorating outside their home....a few flood lights on the ground might have helped....but still great work....this one happens to be my favourite home in the city....

These last ones we discovered on our way home....grand daughter loves Paw Patrol....and has "Chase" on her own front lawn.....she does not care for the scary ones.....

It was the perfect evening to stroll about....the weather couldn't have been better.  Last night....we had a torrential downpour....so loud it woke us up.....not to mention a huge clap of thunder that shook the house!    We plan to stroll about our neighbourhood & take in the sights closer to home....

Today promises to be another nice one....we are getting flu shots today!  The ghost walk is this weekend.....looking forward to a night out with friends.....plan to enjoy a meal beforehand....

Have an awesome weekend....and thanks so much for hanging out with me!

Til next time.....

Christmas 2.0

I'll finish my previous post....my recent visit to Inspired Living....and the Christmas goodness they have brought in!  And.....they have added so much more since then....it warrants another browse around the store soon.....

These tree piks would be awesome for a candy land theme Christmas tree....

Shelves filled with amazing pieces....it's hard to pick a favourite.....check out the nutcrackers....

I'm crushing on this retro camper....it lights up....

I could hear this couple chatting about how they planned to make a replica of the next piece....and once they moved on.....I had to take a peek at what they were planning.....a snowman constructed of "faux" tires....they decided they would use real tires they had on hand.....I'd love to see their finished product....

I have discovered recently.....many items sold on Temu.....are also available on Amazon.....same photos for both.....with huge price differences.....

This table runner....Temu price $6.30 vs Amazon price $34.09.....they even use the same photo....these are things I have ordered.....

This bunch of greenery....Temu price $7.25 vs Amazon price $22.99 .....

Five yards of olive green ribbon.....Temu price $2.89 vs Amazon price $14.99 ........

Five pieces of red berry stems.....Temu price $6.05 vs Amazon price $14.99 ......

In case you wonder how I discovered the price differences.... I ordered these items on Temu....and was surprised to find the same items on Amazon....for much higher prices.....so it pays to shop around.....

I haven't been to Home Sense in weeks....and plan to drop in & shop soon....I bet the Hallowe'en decor is making way for all things Christmas.....

In the meantime.....join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphis Monday and again tomorrow at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesdays.....

Thanks so much for visiting with me today.....hope to have you back again soon!!

Til next time.....

Apple Picking & Vist To The Thrift Store

Thanksgiving has come & gone for another year....we had such an enjoyable day and a delicious turkey dinner.....and did I mention pumpkin pies?   Great to have our family together...including this rascal....Ollie our grand dog!  Not sure how much chihuahua he has in him....I suspect quite a bit of terrier ...coming from a hoarding situation....we will never know!    He's about four months old now.....with the sweetest personality.....and those ears!!

We spent some time in a local apple orchard.....everyone is commenting on how small the apples are this year.....our favourite variety is MacIntosh.....delicious for eating, apple sauce and apple crisp!  Lack of rain has affected all the crops here.....from potatoes to blueberries....

At this point.....I had put together applesauce in the slow cooker....and an apple crisp!

I took a few minutes one afternoon while out & about....and popped into the thrift store.  I was pleasantly surprised how quiet the store was....especially for a Senior's Day Tuesday.   Except it was Wednesday.   I realized that after browsing for a while.....

This is a Willow Tree piece.....my nativity set is from Willow Tree.....I almost picked up this angel....I love the copper wings....

This also is Willow Tree....a lovely piece as well....

I should have  picked up these lanterns.....a set of three....I probably could have used them on the mantle at Christmas....if they are still there next trip I'll snag them......

This was a great piece.....the prices they are asking is insane...everything is donated.......no bargains to be had anymore.....

Had I needed another turkey platter......I likely would have sprung for this one.....even with an inflated price....

And lastly....the price on this dip platter.....would deter anyone from purchasing it.......or it did me....

That was about all that caught my eye.....I didn't have the opportunity to visit a second  thrift store near by....perhaps next week I'll do that....

Mr. Seventies spent some time planting tulips, daffodils and Iris.....only to have what we presume a skunk or two dig them up!  Thankfully he could replant most of them but did lose one tulip bulb to them....they are scavengers for sure.....

Thanks so much for spending time with me today....I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Til next time.....
