It's Good To Be Me!!

I'm truly blessed & grateful for the love & joy in my life!  I had an excellent birthday week...celebrating with my family...

This raspberry filled lemon birthday cake....with mounds of cream cheese icing.....was delicious!!  It was ordered from the same amazing bakery that we like to visit a few miles from here....

We've heard so many positive things about air fryers...Mr. Seventies gifted me one!!  And a beautiful bouquet of tulips!  I'm on the fence about the fryer....as we don't eat a lot of the foods most people use it for...today will be our first time using it.    What are your thoughts & experiences with an air fryer?

I received a few gifts cards....and these items have been on my wish list for a while now....no better time to use them for a few things I'm wanting...

I was happy to come across adorable covers for Kitchen Aid mixers!  They are sold in both the 4 quart and 6 quart sizes.   Mine sits on my counter....Kitchen Aids are heavy so mine stays out permanently.. ...this cover is on order...and will keep it dust free....

I've been crushing on these kitchen appliances for some time now!  They come in various colours...but this yellow has me swooning!  Cannot wait for them to arrive...

The reviews on both pieces is excellent...I'm unfamiliar with the brand name...but think I will love how they work.  Daughter has been eyeing them as well...and added them to her wish list...

I was given gift cards to a couple of clothing stores...so have orders coming in!  Mr. Seventies reminded me I went through & purged my summer wardrobe late last fall....and it all went to goodwill!  Which is fine...saves me the hassle of having to go through it now....but I had forgotten I had purged already!!

The denim skirt I was struggling with to find in a suitable size arrived....and third time was a charm!!  It fits perfect!  I returned the second one I had ordered...since it was too tight...and I do need to breathe....

I'm on the lookout for a spring wreath for the front door.  Or I may hang a forsythia wreath from my stash.  We've had rain & wind the past few days....most of the snow is gone & we have crocus, tulips and daffodils poking up!

Loved It So Much-Purchased It Twice!!

Yesterday, it was such a beautiful, sunny day to celebrate the first official day of spring!  Flurries, rain & wind in the forecast today!  People are raking their lawns already...an annual tradition here...with most of our snow melted!

Have you ever loved something so much....you purchase it twice?  That is just the case with the cozy corduroy jacket!  It is so soft and warm....yet is much too big for me now.  I was able to pass it on & ordered it again in a smaller size....the photos do not do it justice....I hope to get much wear with it next winter as I did with my first one...

Remember these items I posted previously?  I'm still navigating my new sizes...the skirt is proving to be a challenge!  Both were way too big!

I returned both items....and re-ordered the skirt in a smaller size.  Unfortunately, it was still too big!  Since inventory is low in the store (only a small choice of sizes remain)...and none fit  The clerk re-ordered it yet again...in an even smaller size.  Fingers crossed third time is a charm.
The jeans are not available in a size that might be suitable...I'll wait on those & hopefully they will have more sizes come in...

I came across this skirt in a local department store...it fits as long as I don't breathe!  I may keep it (as I continue to lose weight.)....however if the other one fits better...I may return this skirt.   I'm not a fan of the raw hem on the first one, prefer a stitched hem...so may end of keeping this one....

I picked up three t-shirts....with warmer temperatures coming.... these will get plenty of wear...

I am crushing on this piece....it fits so well!  It can be worn with or without a cami or t-shirt underneath!  Mr. Seventies suggested I do a "photo shoot" wearing my new items....might think on doing that...

I found this pretty little thing at a store in the mall.  I'm so not a fan of trying things on in store...but I did with this....and it fit perfectly.  Plan to wear it with a cami or tank top underneath....

I have a couple of skorts (skirt+shorts combo) from previous years...picked up this one in black only in a smaller size.   Toss on a t-shirt & sandals...and out the door!  Easy & comfortable for summer....

And  now that spring has arrived....at least on the calendar....let's look forward to warm & sunny days!

Until next time....

Giveaway-We Have A Winner!!!

A sincere thank you to everyone who commented & were entered in the draw!  The winner of the giveaway is Kim from https://thecatswhiskerz.com/tablescaping/!  Whohoo!  Congratulations, Kim!  I reached out via your awesome blog...once you send me your particulars....I'll pop this special package in the mail & it will be on it's way to you!!   A great way to celebrate my birthday month!!

I took a drive to Inspired Living home decor store the other day....they are gearing up for the spring & summer decor seasons!  Look what caught my eye at first glance!

There is only so much bunny cuteness I can take....I had to bring one home!!  Maybe should have gotten his adorable side kick!

This cushion gave me a chuckle...not a fan of the chair though!  Or is that just me?

A couple of my favourite mugs are back in stock!  I have a few of the fish shaped ones...

And I picked up one of these for both Mr. Seventies and I a few months back!  These ones sell out fast...crazy dog people!

I love this setting!  From the lamp to the marble hearts on the tray....even the table....the welcome sign I don't even mind!  I'm drawn to the more rustic side of things....

And you know I'm crushing on these pitchers!  So tempting...I have their big sister....but it was hard not to bring one of these home...

They were part of a larger setting of awesomeness!

I suffered sticker shock when I saw the price on the tart warmers, though!  I think around $50 or so!!  A bit over priced...and they are a bit plain for my liking...

Oh these candlesticks though!  Available in three sizes...would be so pretty on a mantle or table setting...I think my next visit I may have to pick up a set...

For those who are fans of the coastal vibe!  For someone who lives on an Island and not far from the coast...this is my least favourite style!  I'm teased a bit about being a gal who is surrounded by water...but is obsessed with mountains!!   I'm not a beach lover....detest salt water for swimming....and my Scottish roots make me extremely prone to sunburn!!

There are so many cottage owners here who would love most of these pieces....they sell really well...

Now these are the kind of mice I don't mind!  Pretty adorable...

I came across a pair of garden snippers...I was needing a new set - for cutting flowers from the gardens....

There was so much more to see....the store did a mini make-over....and was quickly filling up with shoppers.  So, I took my purchases and finished up!   Thanks for tagging along with me...

My Thrift Finds

I admit thrifting is not for the faint at heart!  Especially when you are competing with "re-sellers" - those who buy items to sell for the profit.  That doesn't bother me...good for them.  It just means the stores are busier...and in one thrift store...inventory was really low...

The weather when I was out....was miserable.  Cold, wet with a mixture of snow flurries & rain.  I almost headed back home...as the parking lot was full.  But I was there....so decided to continue....

The first item to catch my eye....because it's pottery...was this tea pot.  I think the asking price is crazy....or is it just me?  Have prices doubled in your area?

I scored an additional cutting board!!  I use cutting boards just about daily...and like having them within easy reach....

This one needed a good washing & sanitizing....and after a good rub down with oil....it's all ready for use...the handle makes it too tall to sit upright...but it works on its side...

And a few more pottery pieces...I've tried to remember to show the sticker prices....

It was discount day...so everything in the store was 30% off...I'm seeing quite a few pieces of fire king bowls and mugs lately....

The fire king bowl on the right won't last long in the store....

Look at this adorable mug!!  I thought it was a little planter...until I saw the handle!  Regret not getting it!

I found his cute little dish...to hold black & orange jellybeans at Halloween!

I also found this amazing, braided leather belt in new condition for $3.99!  It will pair perfect with the denim skirt I purchased...

I suspect this was someone's poor attempt at a dough bowl....could have worked except for one corner...

Look what I found!!  Do you think I bought it?   Don't tell Mr. Seventies....

I picked up this Tim Horton's limited edition mug....Mr. Seventies can enjoy his morning coffee.  Tim Horton's coffee shops are a Canadian staple...with locations everywhere!  While I'm not a coffee drinker...I do love the smell of it freshly brewed!!

I had an appointment later that day to add some spring colours to my nails!  I found a highly recommended nail salon...decided to give it a go!  I've had the same nail tech for over fifteen years....but tired of travelling to her spot outside the city.  I've been searching for a new salon....and after a few fails... I'm very happy to have found this new one!

We had such strong winds the other night....strong enough to tear off one side of the gate on the pool deck...happy  it didn't break apart....Mr. Seventies will use stronger & longer screws to re-attach it...

And that is about all the goings on in my neck of the woods!  Sunny today....however we are a long way from spring here!!

Don't forget to comment to be entered into the draw!!   Til next time....
