A Brand New Month!!

We made it through January!!!  We are still experiencing cold windchills....the days are getting longer though.....so there is that!

I decided to whip up a batch of waffles...using my new mixer!  It runs smoother than my first car!!

I love this waffle iron....it takes about five minutes to fully cook and brown four waffles at a time....( I double the recipe...)

I made a good size batch....filled a couple of zip lock bags & placed them in the freezer!  So easy to pop in the toaster for breakfast....or snack!  Golden brown.....and delicious!!

The bedroom is taking a bit longer to pull together....if you read my previous post - I decided to go a different route with the bedding.  I just wasn't :feeling" it.  The set I then ordered-turns out -is  out of stock!!

Plan C it is....and while the window valances have arrived, I think I can still use them with the now ordered set....arriving tomorrow.  The mattress pad & sheets arrived, washed & dried and now on the bed...

I'm ready to have this room finished....this is the pattern arriving  tomorrow....(I seem attracted to black & white)....

Mr. Seventies & I gave the kitchen a good scouring....taking down the Gripstand bowls & while he wiped the top of the cabinets down.....I cleaned the bowls.  We usually do this three times a year...and with the drywall dust, each room has required a good cleaning.  Since is too cold to do much of anything else....it's a good time to putter away & clean....

We enjoyed home made pizza with grand daughter & family....she & I baked a package of chocolate chip cookies.....(about as much baking as I do)....she could hardly wait to try one &  had fun with her stamps and stickers....and very excited to receive Tracker from Paw Patrol.....

I use the bread machine for making pizza dough....it's about the only time it's called into action...churns out perfect dough every time.....

Since Valentines Day is fast approaching, I placed an order with Mr. Seventies favourite brand of chocolates....made at Ganongs, in a candy factory in his home town.   His favourite chocolate bar is called Pal-O-Mine...a combination of fudge and peanuts....this bag should do him a minute!!

And cherry chocolates....I'm not sure what the box will be....guess I'll know when they arrive!  These too are a favourite of his.....

We plan to celebrate Valentine's Day with dining out at John Fish & Chips with friends.... they claim the best fish & chips on the Island!  (and have gluten free menu as one requires a celiac diet).  We're looking forward to trying the menu....our first time dining experience there....

Liesel, like us....is not a fan of this cold weather!  We've only been able go walking a couple of times in the past two weeks!  She gets a bit shack happy when she doesn't get exercise.....a new Bo-Bo seems to have taken the edge off.....

And that's about all the news from here!!  Be sure to& join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphosis Monday!!

And tomorrow I'll be sharing at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesday, as well as https://www.astrollthrulife.net/ for Inspire Me Tuesday....

I hope it's warmer where you are.....thanks so much for spending time with me!

Until next time....

  1. Hi Charlotte! The new pattern for looks really pretty and I can't wait to see the finished bedroom. The chocolates look so yummy - I'm sure Mr. Seventies will love them. We are really cold here too (-20's) and I know exactly what you mean when you say it's too cold to walk. We are to stay cold for the next little while but I hope your weather warms up soon. Take care over there my friend!

  5. I have had a waffle maker on my wish list for so long! I keep asking myself though do we really need another appliance - then I see waffles and the answer is YES!
