Another Monday is upon us....and the smallest bedroom is done. I didn't think the walls would be this "red" but it is what it is...but lets take a quick look at the before...ugh...that ceiling...
He dismantled the bed before scraping...rather than have it in the way & covered in dust....and removed the curtain rod brackets...
I struggled pulling this room together....nothing seemed to go according to my plan....I'm just happy to have pretty, flat white ceilings! Once scraped & wiped down...a coat of primer was rolled on before two coats of white paint....and then the walls....
Even though I thought the darker colour would make the room feel small or darker.....it truly doesn't...and I'm relieved to have the room finished. (I think I mentioned that a few times....). The bedding I had planned to use....I just couldn't learn to like it. It seems I'm on a black & white theme these days....
It's the smallest bedroom.....with the largest closet...go figure...gotta love this seventies split...I am obsessed with these pretty valances though.....and the matching quilt set....
So there you have it! It's fresh....it's clean & most importantly....it's done!! Be gentle with your thoughts on the finished room....
I went shopping for shower tile with daughter & grand daughter a few days ago. It all started when the shower door in their ensuite bath...exploded! No one was in the bath at the time.... millions of chunks of glass went everywhere! We're just thankful no one was hurt!
Daughter is enlarging the shower....and rather than replace it with a shower stall...she's chosen an enclosure with tiled walls. We took a number of tile samples home..... this is the one chosen....she will need to choose a grout colour as well....
The contractor & Mr. Seventies will be removing the old shower & prepping the space for the new shower then the plumber & tile setter can do their work. There are two additional showers in their home, so they don't have to deal with no shower while the work gets done. As with just about anything here.....the shower needs to be ordered...possibly the tile as well....
After a couple of days reprieve from the cold....windchill temps have returned! As always this time of year....I turn my thoughts to summer days! I struggle to find comfortable sandals. ...Ugg never disappoints...these looks so comfy....I chose the darker chestnut colour...& can't wait for them to arrive...they were available locally, but not in my size. I've learned with leather footwear....to go down 1/2 size....as leather stretches...
I need to make a visit to Inspired Living....how adorable are these mugs they brought in? They are flying out the door....so I need to act fast if I want to pick one up!! I'll share if I'm able to snag one!! Can you guess which one I hope to get??
Be sure & join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphis Monday!
And tomorrow with Joanne at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesday and https://www.astrollthrulife.net/ for Inspire Me Tuesday!!
As always, thank you so much for spending a bit of your time with me! Wishing you an awesome day!
Til next time....
I think the room looks great! It's funny how sometimes dark colors don't dwarf a room and other times they do. I think it helps that you have lots of natural light and the window, bedding, trim, etc. is nice and light too.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Joanne!! The room gets full sun in the afternoon & I think that helps a bit too!!
DeleteCharlotte, the bedroom looks fantastic! The wall color is very pretty and adds a nice pop and the quilt and valance make it look so crisp and fresh. Love the little bow pillow too. The duck mugs are adorable and they are all cute - I'd have trouble deciding too lol. Yikes about the exploding shower door! Take care over there my friend and I hope your weather is better than ours. Brrr.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim...we are in a "deep"freeze here, as well! Hearing rumblings of a "system" brewing...ugh. Tired of winter. I hope to pop out & have a look at the duck mugs...they are pretty cute! Stay warm, my friend!!!
