We're still into some bone numbing windchills....last night there was a frostbite warning! We'll get a reprieve from the cold for a day or two....we've had the wood pellet stove & heat pump going steady!
Remember the light fixture I spotted at the Habitat for Humanity store? Daughter picked it up.....it's been installed & looks amazing in her front entry.....she has been changing out the fixtures from builder basics....
Also, I keep a wicker trunk in the kitchen....in the winter it holds mitts, gloves, hats & Liesel's sweaters & wraps.....and in the summer it keeps swim suits & pool towels handy. The trunk had seen better days.... wicker on one side had been damaged complete with a fairly good sized hole.....
I came across this beauty on FB Marketplace.... it is exactly what I had been searching for! I was going to need to spend a fair bit of $$ to find one bigger, if I could find one at all in the stores or online....and one that would not take up to much floor space in the kitchen! When I saw this....and the measurements were perfect....I snagged it for $20!
I braved the cold temps and did a browse around Home Sense....can you tell what this is? I couldn't either at first. There's a lot of things in that store that make me ponder...this is one of those things!
Did you figure out it's a "croissant" on a plate....candle? Moving on...this piece needs no explanation...and no....I did not purchase it. Now, I'm not sure what happened to the nose. Did they decide at the last minute the plantar should resemble a pug....and shorten it's nose. We'll never know....
I swear you stick a dachshund on anything....and people will buy it! Well...some people...
I don't know how I feel about this floor lamp....I guess if I lived on a ranch? Or had an obsession with rope....maybe...
Now a couple of things caught my eye....if I hadn't recently purchased a trash can....I love the colour of this one....mine is a boring brown colour.....but it's under the sink & not visible....
I don't hate this lamp (there were two of them)....and could see them on night stands....and considered them for grand daughter's bedroom....I'll have to check with her Mama....
Did anyone know they sell Tupperware at Home Sense? Or even if it's still a thing? I didn't. But why not, I guess....
I do like these pretty casserole dishes....perfect size for a small family....
I'm just going to leave this right here. Cause who doesn't need a stack of donuts cookie jar?
And Valentine's anything has exploded in the stores...put a heart on it & gift your beloved a set of placemats!!
And....I'm sure you're tired of hearing about the bedroom that was recently painted. I know I'm tired of thinking about it.
While the quilt set arrived & is perfect for the bed....the adorable valances I shared previously....clashed! They have an ecru background....the quilt has a white background! (of course it does).
It's hard to tell when you view the difference between ecru and white on line. I returned those valances....and ordered two that match the bedding. Fingers crossed we can put this room to "bed' on Monday!!
I can't remember if I shared I'm needing a knee replacement. (I'm that old). The wait time for surgery is about 15 months....and I am there. My paperwork was submitted, by the surgeon on December 16, 2023. I've been advised it will likely happen in April or May. I'm not thrilled to be getting it done....but dealing with the pain & discomfort is no picnic either. I'll be happy when it's over & done with....
