It's been a rough few days...I'm not going to sugar-coat it! My surgical & recovery team in the hospital....were amazing! It could not have gone better...my hospital room....on the other hand.....was a circus!
Wonderful neighbours & family have brought in casseroles, lasagna & daughter visits daily dropping off Easter dinner & all the fixings. Me attending Easter dinner was just not going to happen....so they brought it to me!
Wednesday is my first physiotherapist appointment....I hope he is gentle!!
In the meantime....it's been wonderful to have a little squiggle buddy to keep me company!!
And tomorrow at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesday as well as https://www.astrollthrulife.net/ for Inspire Me Tuesday!!
Have an awesome day wherever you are & thanks so much for visiting with me!!
Til next time....
Congratulations on "surviving" the surgery!
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect way to describe the surgery....I survived it!! I did not know what to expect prior....at least now I know!!
DeleteAw, I hope you are feeling better soon. The owner of our local gym has been in your husband's shoes as her husband has gone through 2 knee replacement surgeries this winter and while the first few weeks sounded really rough (like he swore he was canceling the second surgery!) it's remarkable the improvement in the end. I hope you continue to see signs of improvement each day!
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne - thank you for your well wishes! I've spent today...pretty much in best...resting & it helps. I suspect Mr. Seventies might feel the same your your gym owner's husband!!
DeleteI understand what you are talking about.. I had my 2nd knee replacement in Dec. The pain is terrible & it is difficult placing your knee to sleep or sit. It’s important to move around to prevent blood clots or pneumonia. You will become deconditioned quickly if you are not up walking around. I had the bad pain all of Dec, Jan & part of Feb. One day the pain “just” left. You will get through this, but it does hurt horribly (or it did for me). Do all the exercises physical therapy gives you to do at home. Good luck! You will make it! ❤️🙏🏻
ReplyDeleteWelcome my comrade in pain!! I'm happy to only need the one knee replaced....I wouldn't be in a rush to have another done!!
DeleteI hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly. Sounds like you have a good support team - including your furry buddy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle! Your sweet words of encouragement truly help!!! And I'm blessed to have "Nurse" Liesel on duty!
DeleteI sure your recovery improves and you start feeling better and more mobile!

Hi Mireille! I hope I continue to heal!!
DeleteCharlotte, I am so sorry for your pain and discomfort but what a wonderful treat that your family brought easter to you. Love that! I hope you feel better soon and wishing you the most speediest recovery. Take good care my friend!
ReplyDeleteOh, Kim...I hope you had a beautiful Easter weekend! Mr. Seventies & I enjoyed our "meals on wheels" delivered to us....I hope to continue to recover! Take care, my friend!!
DeleteI'm glad to hear you're recovering even though it is not quick or easy. It sounds like you are in really good hands (and paws!). Good luck tomorrow at PT and Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Heather, I agree I am in the gentlest hands and "paws"!!
DeleteI am also in my seventies and I can comiserate. I haven't had knee replacement but I've had other surguries over the years and my husband recently had CABG surgery. Hang in there! The body has a remarkable healing process!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat!! And welcome...wonderful to have you here! I think as we get older (I'm 68 now)....the body's ability to cope & bounce back...diminished. I've always been a strong willed..with a strong pain tolerance. Until now... I hope your husband is doing well! See you again soon!
