It's good to be back! I'm hoping everyone had a beautiful Christmas....and belated Happy New Year!! We had another wonderful Christmas...we enjoyed Christmas Eve with munchies & exchanging gifts with daughter & family....as always we recieved too much! One piece I was gifted was this beautiful cardigan...in the softest & prettiest colour....
One item Mr. Seventies gifted me was a rechargeable hand vacuum....I love this thing! So handy for those small clean ups when I don't want to bring out the big vacuum! It's so handy sitting on the charger in the kitchen...
And....how cute is this dachshund candle? It looks great on the mantle opposite to the one in white....
While not purchased locally...this beautiful cookie jar was an Ebay find!! And why yes....I did order one.....I'll share when it arrives!
These Christmas kitchen towels were on clearance at Wal Mart....for $3.99! I tucked them away until next Christmas. We only just took our tree down on Saturday....I could have enjoyed it longer....but it was time to pack it up & put away....doesn't the house feel empty when all the decorations are gone?

While in Home Sense....I came across this adorable piece...yes it's a chair for a toddler.....but it would make the most cutest dog bed! Right?? Even Mr. Seventies agreed!
I only saw two issues that prevented me from bringing it home.....while it's adorable....it's also "chewable"....and we know how puppies love to chew! So that and how on earth could this be laundered? Getting it washed & dried would be a huge issue! If he can't be easily washed & dried....it's not a good idea....but I wanted to get it!!
We are calling 2026 the year of the dachshund! Our breeder advised our pup's Mama is due January 10, 2026!!! (calculated from when she was bred). As with any expectant mother....that is an approximate date.... we're sitting on pins & needles until the puppies arrive safe & sound....(little excited)......
I have a set of five of this exact reindeer mugs! This one at Home Sense was marked down to $4....I now have a set of six!!
Our weather has turned really cold....with bone chilling windchill temps....I am so not a fan of the cold! I have to dress in layers in an attempt to keep warm!
Please join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphosis Monday and again tomorrow at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesdays!
Thanks so much for spending time with me....so much to look forward to in 2026!!
Til next time.....

Lovely to have you back and to hear about your holidays. Loved all the cute things you got at the after Christmas sales. You will be so excited to get that birth announcement that your little pup has arrived. Hugs, Elaine
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Elaine for your sweet, welcoming post! I hope you had an amazing Christmas & New Year! I cannot wait to share when Mama Dachshund gives birth....the excitement is almost unbearable!
DeleteFingers crossed, every thing goes well. Charlotte, I love your rug under the black bench in one of your pictures. Do you mind sharing where you bought it? Thanks. Hugs, Elaine in Toronto
DeleteHi Elaine - I ordered it through BedBathandBeyond Canada - which has since closed. (although apparently they plan to have an online website to shop from). I found it on the US site - which is still open....https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/Home-Garden/Safavieh-Handmade-Blossom-Modern-Contemporary-Grey-Red-Wool-Rug-5-X-8/22559718/product.html?refccid=UPSVDCKHRZ4LQTSGZCWVAD7B24&option=66330396&searchidx=37
DeleteThanks, Charlotte. I’ll check it out. Hugs, Elaine (in Toronto).
DeleteYou are so welcome, Elaine. I love wool rugs...they last forever & wear amazingly. Very happy with this rug.

DeleteI so enjoyed this post this afternoon! And yes, my house feel sooo empty without my decorations! I'm determined to fix that by putting up some new ones soon for spring, and maybe adding more to the wall.
