A Brand New Week

I hope all Dads had a wonderful, relaxing Father's Day!  Mr. Seventies enjoyed his day....daughter & family visited for a delicious steak barbecue with all the fixin's and this decadent cake from a local bakery......along with thoughtful gifts for him & our son-in-law....

One gift he received from daughter in Nova Scotia was a much needed new barbecue cover & a wire basket to carry vegetables from the garden to the kitchen....

The pool water is clear....Mr. Seventies has been diligently working on it....now if we just get some decent weather....the steps have yet to go in.....he was finally able to put the last coat of stain on the pool deck....

I ordered a couple of fall outfits for my Giddy Goose...I can't wait for her to show them off come September....

I can't decide which one I like best.....but will be able to switch & use both....she does make an adorable ghost...

Mr. Seventies & I popped into a greenhouse in the heart of the city....I had my heart set on finding an additional orange azalea...we have one in the front garden....but it appears to be a slow grower....

Usually, the orange ones sell out quickly, but this greenhouse had a few left....and we purchased one...this is the vibrant colour of the orange azalea.....

Mr. Seventies intends to plant it on its own on the side lawn....a head of the side garden....we have two gorgeous colours blooming currently in the front garden....and they are stunning.....

Even with all the rain we've had....and little sun, the gardens are gorgeous this year....I'm obsessed with  this Iris....we have a number of varying colours of them....

This is one of our stunning Bridal Wreath Spirea....it has always done so well on this side of the pool deck....the one in the front garden has been hit a couple of times by falling limbs off a tree....(that is now cut down)....thanks to a couple of tropical storms....

Our Variegated Pink Weigela is in full bloom....it blooms earlier than our second variety Red Prince Weigela....likely be a few days yet for it to show off it's colours.....

Today we have four yards of black mulch being delivered.....it's a start on mulching in the gardens.  We will need more....but since it gets dumped in the driveway....Mr. Seventies can putter away at getting it spread....(it's difficult to keep him from over-doing it) .....

We did get the wicker furniture set out on the small deck....and the protective covers I ordered fit beautifully.  There was a coffee table cover included &  we plan to use it to cover the wicker trunk that houses pool towels, bathing suits, grand daughter's & Clancy Mae's safety vests.....

In recent years, we have set the trunk in the kitchen.....but it takes up too much room, setting it on the pool deck is a better idea...having everything within easy reach....

If the trunk doesn't last long.....we can use a large covered tote....

I'll leave you with this sweet photo of my sweet Clancy Mae & I.  She has brought so much joy into our lives....we are enjoying her immensely!  She continues to grow & thrive.... and is very popular no matter where we go....

Please join me as I share later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphosis Monday & tomorrow at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesdays.....

Thank you for spending a bit of your time with me today....

Til next time.....
