We're back in a deep freeze friends! -29 C windchill here with a risk of frostbite warning! Yikes! It was very windy last evening....calmer this morning, but winds are forecast to return later today! It's winter-in Canada! Enuf said.
We received about 29 cm (about one foot) of snow....we had very little before this storm. Let's hope it warms up a bit & has an opportunity to melt before we get any more...it's a light, fluffy snow....
Mr. Seventies shovelled off the pool deck floor .... it helps eliminate melting snow from laying on the deck boards...... he also keeps our walkways clear ..... the driveway is too big a job.....we've had an awesome guy hired for years to blow that out. Plows are usually used for roads and parking lots.
Large tractors with snow blowers attached are the norm for clearing residential homes .... some have small snow blowers of their own....but we have a great contractor hired the last number of years....he comes early morning & usually two-three times afterwards to keep us cleared out! Snow removal usually cost anywhere from $400-$500 per year....very worth it!!
Our bird feeding station had to be cleaned off as well....we have one little squirrel who is obsessed with trying to get at them... and not having much luck!
He/she is able to push the cover to the side & crawl in....it's pretty cute to watch....
Our holly shrubs covered in snow....
Thursday weather forecast is calling for a snow-rain mix. Go figure! My adorable dachshund cookie jar arrive - and I'm obsessed!! I don't care if he is decked out in Santa & sweater....he is going to sit on the counter!!
Look at this adorable bag, purse charm & wallet that also arrived!! The cutest finds....ever!!
The stores are selling tulips and Home Sense & Inspired Living carry "real touch tulips". (so expensive too). Which made me bring mine out...(the ones I picked up at the thrift store last year). They were originally dirty white in colour....and I dyed them!
Some of the orange dye rubbed off on the teal ones.... I plan to re-dye them! Not in teal this time....but black! Stay tuned - fingers crossed they turn out! Mr. Seventies thought they were "neat" as is.... not the look I'm going for though....
January is slipping by..... our dachshund pup is now 16 days old! I don't want to bother the breeder & request updated photos..... but I may just have to! I know they have grown... usually it's at this age they open their eyes! Cannot wait!!
Thanks so much for being here today! I hope it's warm & sunny where you are....
So much snow, Charlotte. It is January after all but I’m so over the charms of winter. Love your new purse and cookie jar. So cute, both of them. Hope you get puppy pictures soon. Hugs, Elaine
