June - Not My Favourite Month

June has never been my favourite month....the weather is unpredictable....temperatures are all over the place.....and as I type this....it's foggy as heck....and we have the pellet stove running!  We may see sun today....likely the only day this week....

Almost two years ago...I suffered an N Stemi heart attack...caused by a partial blockage of a coronary artery...

During an N Stemi event, it was explained to me.....blood flow is reduced & starves the heart of oxygen & causes permanent damage.  Because an EKG is not as obvious, doctors diagnose an NSTEMI using blood tests to detect cardiac troponin—a protein released into the blood when heart muscle cells die....

N Stemis are caused by coronary artery disease...a build up of plaque in an artery ruptures....a blood clot forms & limits blood flow to the heart....and causes the heart attack.

After much discussion between the trauma doctor here & cardiologists in NB during my event....a clot buster medication was administered & I was transported to the cardia care facility in NB.  While clot busters have been known to have negative outcomes...it did what it was supposed to do....it broke up the clot.  

And saved my life.  That is what I learned about N Stemi heart attacks....I'm so very grateful to my health care team here and in NB.  Heart disease & heart attacks are predominant in my family...my Mom, two of her brothers & her Mom....all died very young due to heart attacks....

Cardiac care has come a long way over the years....I'm living proof.

Anyhow....my cardiac event is not the sole reason for my post today....but when this time of year rolls around....it gives me pause for thought....and gratitude....I am a proud.....

Moving on....look what I saw at Winner's a few days ago!!  It's starting....fall decor....and I couldn't be more excited...

I laid this rug down to enjoy its pretty colours......all the while pondering how long it would take Clancy Mae to rip it to shreds....then I folded it & set it back....

Have you heard of Knobeze?  They are silicone covers that fit over knobs & handles on cabinets....and are available for the various holiday & seasons.....I'm obsessed with these pumpkin ones!!

I would need 50 covers.....who knew I had so many cabinet doors & drawers....which means I would need 5 packs of 12 covers....I'm considering ordering them....skull ones are available on Amazon....

I previously placed an order with Roots....apparently my order was left in our community mail box....but the mail man left a key to retrieve my package.....he forgot to leave the parcel!!  I left him a note....hopefully he will set it in the locked box today....

I had ordered a pair of jogging pants a few months back from Roots....however they were too big & really heavy fabric.....I'm hoping these ones will fit better & be lighter in weight.  I much prefer the bottoms in these pants...instead of elasticized cuffs....and the blue is such a pretty colour...

I love baseball style t's....especially with 3/4 sleeves....can't wait to get this....

Wednesday, July 1st we celebrate Canada Day!  We may join daughter & family on the Charlottetown waterfront where a host of activities are being held for kids & adults (although rain is in the forecast-big surprise there)!  We plan to enjoy a barbecue later in the day with them....sadly it won't be a pool day!  

This is the first time in the 18 years since we had the pool installed we haven't been able to swim in June!!  One year our first swim was June 30th-but it was still June!

That won't be happening this year.....we'e had too much overcast & rain....summer began June 21....so we've lost one week already!  And it sucks....July long range weather forecast is below seasonal temps....enuf said...
