Lilies & More!

We currently have a few variety of lilies....we were searching for this particular one in the gardens....and could not find it!   Then a few days ago....it magically appeared!!  It's the only variety I remember the name of....Boogeyman!!  Is it not stunning?

We have a number of varieties.....and plan to order a few more.....

The clematis is thriving on on the pool deck wall......it took a number of attempts, in various places on our property.....before we finally were able to get one to grow.....and it's a show stopper!!

The vegetable garden is thriving as well.....we've had the perfect summer for growing corn...which loves the heat....

Under this covering.....we are growing broccoli.....first time in many years!  We covered it for protection from the cabbage worm....which loves cauliflower, broccoli & cabbage!!

We've been enjoying new potatoes from the garden.....and the last day or two....an abundance of yellow & green beans....

There is nothing like enjoying fresh vegetable that were growing 1/2 hour prior to cooking!  Mr. Seventies loves to garden....and we enjoy his hard work!!   You will never find him on a golf course....he'd rather be gardening.....

Possible showers in the forecast today.....we do need rain (hard to admit).....we've had a hot, dry summer so far!  And we're loving it!

I hope your summer is going well....

Til next time....

  1. Love your daylilies! And Mr. Seventies should be very proud of his garden. It’s hard to believe we’re still getting tomatoes , cucumbers, and squah in August. I’m thankful we’ve had an abundance of rain and slightly cooler temperatures this summer. RHill, TX

    1. So happy to hear your have a wonderful garden & the growing season has been a bit cooler there! We are much later in our growing season.....we leave squash in the ground usually til late November-early December. We pick a few beforehand - leave the rest til later in the season. Have an awesome weekend! (Mr. Seventies says thank you, btw).....
