Waterfront Craft Shop Visit, Etc.

We ventured to the downtown waterfront, known as Peakes Quay (named after patriarch James Ellis Peake who owned three wharves & businesses there in the 1800's.).  It is now a popular tourist spot.

We visited to enjoy fish & chips from a local spot known as the Chip Shack!  The best fish & chips in town...hands down!

It's located so close to the water....you could almost dip your toes in!!  I would have enjoyed sharing photos of the various sights & shops......but it's tourist season!  And 99% of them...were mingling about & taking in the eating establishments, ice creams & the dozen or so shops to peruse....

After our enjoyable feast....while Mr. Seventies enjoyed the shade & local music performers...I ventured into one of the craft shops.  Keep in mind....I'm taking these photos & avoiding having anyone appear in them....

I love pottery...and there is nothing more awesome than pottery made by local artisans....

How pretty (and useful) are these hand knit (crotchet?) bags?  Can be used for a number of things...the one on the right was my favourite....

I was crushing on this bird house.....and another one I failed to photograph (again small shop & numerous shoppers).....it was a bee skep....but this lobster bird house is adorable....

Ever heard of a potato glove?  No?  They are used to scrub potatoes!  And work really well when new potatoes are ready to be enjoyed!  Our potatoes in the garden....are flowering!  Hate to admit it....but we need a bit of rain...but don't let the heat wave God's hear that!

Let it be known....

I'm going to own a fox hat this fall!  There is a whole line of locally knit fox hats, mittens, scarves....in sizes from infant to adults!  And I love anything fox!  We used to have numerous foxes around this Seventies Split.....sadly mange has decreased their population substantially!  They are beginning to re-bound....we just don't have them back here yet....

This though.....is probably the hat I should own!

This piece was adorable....I'm crushing on it so hard...who doesn't love foxes??

No craft shop would be complete without some Anne of Green Gables memorabilia.....mugs are no exception....the house in the background is the actual house.....located here in Cavendish.....there are tours daily....

Anyone ever enjoyed a "Beaver Tail"?  Me either....but I fully intend to!  It's a pastry delicacy from what I've been told....but it and "Smores"....I've never partaken in!   I didn't even know they had a  location on the waterfront!  Had I not been full from the fish & chips (and Cows ice cream).....I would have ordered one.   Next time...their delicious aroma was so tempting...

We had a lovely evening.....wandering around...playing tourists!  It was a warm evening but with a cool breeze to enjoy!  We are experience warm temperatures (warm for here - 88-89 F today).....with loads of sun!

My tea pot tart warmer arrived.....and I'm loving it!   The bulb included was too big....a quick trip to Home Depot for a smaller one....and it's up & running....

Mr. Seventies has been finishing up a few outside projects....he can retire his stain brush for this season....now he has moved on to the exterior back door.  The trim around the door required a couple of coats of white paint.....he's moved on to painting the exterior storm door......just taping it up...

If you've been reading along for a while now.....you've come to know I like colour!  And this white exterior door is screaming for some colour!  How about.....Pistachio....by Behr....it's interior/exterior paint suitable for metal...(as in storm doors).....it's going to look a-w-e-s-o-m-e!!

We decided to paint the door....rather than replace it.....there is nothing wrong with the door....it works fine.  It is just needing a facelift!

While it's cooler this morning.....Mr. Seventies is busy prepping & will get a first coat on!

Another pool day.....family evening pool event will be in full swing.....a repeat to last evening!  We've even had the heat pump (set on air conditioning) running off and on the past few days....sun & warm temps are in the long range foreseeable future!!

Wishing you an awesome day wherever you are!

Til next time....
