Visit To The Lavender Distillery

One hot & breezy afternoon we ventured not too far from home to visit this amazing spot!!  While it isn't a long drive from us.....it's in the middle of nowhere.....or at least you can see it from there!  We followed a narrow, winding road....to a dead end...and we were there!

Upon arrival.....the smell of lavender....was intoxicating!   Patches & rows of various varieties growing everywhere!  I'm standing in front of a variety Mr. Seventies plans to grow. ......

A couple of the fields.....quite a bit had been picked down.....they have been open for a few weeks now....

Rows and rows of beautifully scented lavender....

There was lavender bunches picked & tied up ready for sale.....or you could pick your own, sit for a spell & tie up your bundles....

And......the most adorable gift shop on site.....

You know I had to check it out....

This cabinet held lavender lotions, potions & oils....the shop was adorable....and fun to browse around....

This cabinet held many items made from local bees wax....

Who doesn't love an antique carriage of hand crafted baby foxes?  I sure do...

In this room, a number of local potters had their pieces available for purchase....along with various bouquets of dried flowers....

I'm crushing on these heart shaped mugs....$84 each!

And if you've not tried chocolate covered potato chips....you don't know what you're missing!!  Absolutely a salty & sweet snack!  We made them at home when our girls were younger....we spread ripple potato chips on a cookie sheet.....and covered them in melted milk chocolate chips!   Once the chocolate hardened....they didn't last long!

Mr. Seventies pick up a bottle of locally made jam from Island Preserve Company!  We've never visited their site...it's on our "to do" list as well!!

Upon leaving.....we stopped to admire gorgeous rose bushes....

Beautiful & smelled just as amazing....pink are my favourite.....so soft & delicate....

We are so glad we discovered the lavender distillery....and hope to make it an annual visit....now that we know where to find it!   It's tucked out of the way.....but visitors from out of province seem not to have any issue locating it.  Maybe it's just us locals....

I hope you enjoyed our visit to the lavender distillery as well!  It promises to be a busy week here....Mr. Seventies brother & his wife arrived tomorrow from Nova Scotia for a visit.....very much looking forward to catching up with them! We will see them again in a few weeks time....to visit with them & attend a family wedding....

Afterwards we are off for a few days to explore Nova Scotia a bit more....staying our first night in Lunenburg...a port town in Nova Scotia founded in 1753!  We have longed to visit there & decided to book accommodations & visit!!  I promise to take you along!  Have you seen the Hallmark Christmas movie "Christmas Island"?  It was filmed in and around Nova Scotia's south shore....I hope you can check it out!

Be sure to join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphis Monday!

And tomorrow check out https://www.astrollthrulife.net/ for Inspire Me Tuesday as well as https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesdays.....

Sincere thanks for hanging out with me today....I so appreciate it.

Til next time....

  1. Oh, that visit must have been fun Charlotte and I can only imagine the smell - heavenly!! The gift shop looks so cute but $84 for a mug is a bit, well... pricey. I've never seen chocolate covered potato chips and that's probably a good thing lol. Enjoy your company tomorrow and your upcoming visit to Nova Scotia. Take care, my friend!
