October is winding down....the trick or treaters will be out in full force tomorrow night! Our plan is to join granddaughter & family.....with Clancy Mae in tow & go door to door in their neighbourhood. They live in a community which is home to many young families.....so they have a large number of kids out & about!
We seldom get many.....even though we have sidewalks....our road is busy....no matter what time of day or night it is. We will leave a bowl of treats on our step....and take most of our treats to daughter's & they will be handed out there! Clancy Mae has her costume all ready!
We spent a morning packing up all the Hallow'en decor...since we will have a busy weekend and it takes a bit of time to get everything put away & the house given a good cleaning...
We had a lovely, quiet anniversary celebration. Rather than dine out....we chose to try delicious subs from a new spot..... Firehouse Subs! We enjoyed a quiet meal & snacks by the fire.....and reminisced our wedding day....all those years ago! Add an additional four years prior & we've been together a total of 47 years!!! (yep...we are that old)....
Mr. Seventies gifted me beautiful roses & an Amazon gift card...(he knows me well)....
I gifted him a refill of his favourite shave cream....sourced from a local entrepreneur. I began purchasing from this local gentleman....a number of years ago. The first purchase consisted of a stein filled with his own shave cream (available in a number of scents) and a shave brush!
Mr. Seventies says the quality of the cream is the best he has used....and continues to use. I usually purchase refills a couple of times a year....(refill bladders are great for those guys who already own steins)....he has a couple of steins and 2-3 of the excellent quality shave brushes....
I discovered Olin....and his shave creams a number of years ago at an outdoor market....and have been a loyal customer for Mr, Seventies ever since! (Mr. Seventies was even gifted a t-shirt). Of course the company has grown by leaps & bounds since then....that happens when you have a superior product!
I popped into Winners one afternoon.....and I don't say this lightly....there was so much Christmas decor in store....I was overwhelmed! Me. Overwhelmed. But I was.
Winners sells clothing along with a host of home decor! I couldn't resist this soft & cozy chocolate brown sweater....(I don't hang sweaters, I fold & store them on a shelf or in a drawer).....but I wanted to share a pic....
I had discovered larger brass bells when I shopped on the mainland.....but they were only available in larger sizes there.... I waited & hoped the smaller versions would be come available at Home Sense or Winners here....
And they did....I'm obsessed with them!! They will look awesome on the hearth, with the garland & brass bells we hang on the mantle above....
Remember the snowsuit I ordered for Clancy Mae? Well...it didn't go as planned! What a chore to fit it on her.....and even with rolling up the legs....she was having no part of them!!
What was I thinking? If nothing else....we had a great laugh at her expense! Return to sender....
Wishing everyone a Happy & Safe Hallowe'en! Let's hope the weather co-operates wherever you are!
Til next time....
