Looking Forward to the "Ber" Months!!

 

I've made no secret fall is my favourite time of year....actually the next four months are my favourites!  I feel summer is sending us off with one final hurrah....it's forecast to be warm all week....before cooling down.  September can have warm days as well...but the evenings are shorter....and cooler....

Don't think I'm too crazy, as I've jumped a full season ahead....to Christmas!  In my defence, when I come across something I truly like.....I don't hesitate.....like who doesn't love (faux) popcorn on their Christmas tree?    I don't have the patience to string the "real" stuff....three strands I ordered should be plenty for our tree this year....

Okay, that little jump ahead was enough for now...let's focus on the upcoming fall season....like these corduroy fleece lined pants.... I'm so crushing on them!!  When you order two pair....the third pair is free....I ordered in this colour, as well as navy & dark green....how super comfortable do these look?   I'm anemic....so warm clothes are a must for me....even in hot weather I chill easily....

Nothing warmer than this soft & cozy scarf....and it has a dachshund on it!!  Yes please....it will look great this winter.....

I came across this little witch at Home Sense again this year....I have her in my stash already....how adorable is the little ghost shih tzu.....

This one is new to me...... so definately.....add to cart....

What a variety of pumpkin heads I'm seeing this year....and I love them!!  We're hoping to have a good crop in our garden come October....if not we'll have to purchase a few & set them in the garden, so grand daughter will have her own pumpkins she planted in Grampie's vegetable garden.....we are those grandparents....

I adore these ghosts....some of which light up....too cute....

I'm crushing on this ghost garland....and know I have garland(s) in my stash....as well as a Hallowe'en mantle garland I hope to try out this year....

This broom....and the witches boots though....ugh.  I want that broom so bad....but not with the $60 price tag....we still have the one we made last year....but it's an "outdoor" broom.  There is a difference, right??

I purchased this adorable hoodie in anticipation of Hallowe'en....it is so soft & cozy.....and roomy....

We had a few warm days last week & we hadn't been to What's The Scoop dairy bar since about the end of June or first week of July.....they have pup cups for $2.75 with small dog biscuits on them.....Clancy Mae love it ....

Today is day 14 - post op!!  We can start going for longer walks on the trails!  Her incision is fully healed & closed....her fur is slow to grow in tho, where she was shaved.  When leaving the surgical wrap off....she tends to lick at it....I imagine it is itchy......we plan to keep it on a little while longer.....

It showered here all day one day ...... we were fortunate  to get in short walks on the "Bunny Trail" with Clancy Mae....in this photo....she spots a bunny up ahead....

The Other Hardworking Guy In My Life

I'm talking about Scrub Daddy!!  Anyone else use this little scrubby?  I heard he had a good reputation....and he has a partner...Scrub Mommy...the difference being she has a rough side & a sponge side....whereas he is just rough & tough!

While perusing the cleaning supply aisles at WalMart I locked eyes with Scrub Daddy...and the rest is history.  I didn't knew how much I would love this guy... he is awesome for scrubbing the sink, the ceramic cooktop, even the countertops!

And I use Fabuloso as it works really well on floors, cabinets.& bathrooms....and leaves a nice scent...

We spent a day giving the kitchen a deep clean, it was an overcast, drizzly kind of day...we took down my Gripstand bowls & while Mr, Seventies wiped the tops of the cabinets.....I washed & dried my bowls....all the cabinets were cleaned inside and out....the shutters as well....and the tile floor was wiped up....the light fixture over the kitchen table was thoroughly cleaned as well....

The next room to tackle is the family room, likely in September.  We plan to borrow daughter's carpet cleaner & tackled the area rug....we'll take it up first & wipe up the floor.....we are waiting to do that room after they have replaced the glass in the window....then we can give it & those shutters a good cleaning.  Once we know their ETA, Mr. Seventies will remove the shutters and we can clean them thoroughly...

Look who was on hand to "help".....I ushered her into the family room pretty quick....as much as we appreciated the extra set of paws....

Much safer for everyone if she is gated in the family room playing with her toys.....after I had changed her surgical wrap....so the other could be washed....

I dropped into Winners a few days ago & picked up a couple of new toys for Clancy Mae ...for the time being she is happy just to play with them.....without shredding them apart.....these one were a couple of Liesel's favourites....durable enough for puppy teeth....

This one crinkles.....she loves the sound ....it has survived the first few days of shakes & chews....

While at Winner's, my friend & fellow dachshund Mom requested a set of sheets in a double/full size (for their fifth wheeler).....she in turn was able to find a queen size set for me, since our store was sold out.

She shows her dachshunds possibly at a show here in October....she will either be over or can send mine over with another gal & we can do the exchange then....or we may take a day & go to the mainland....how adorable are these "Hallowiener" sheets??

Also while at Winners....I picked up this canister for Clancy Mae's treats....just a typical tin...not exactly my preferred choice......but if I come across something else I like better I can always use two....for now this one works great....

I ordered this adorable handbag....it's available in red or black with the white bow....I chose the red....gorgeous...I've not ordered from this company before....fingers crossed it arrives without issues....

Mostly cloudy again here today, we may see sun late in the afternoon...I have an appointment to get my nails done....Mr. Seventies plans to give the fridge a good cleaning prior to me placing a grocery order...

Let's Catch Up

Friends...can you believe how August is slipping away on us?  We're already feeling a "touch of fall" in the air....it's darker earlier in the evenings (and mornings).....and the nights are much cooler now.  Showers off & on forecast for the week....but decent temperatures during the day.....

Before we continue I want to share a loving tribute my nephew does for his Mom (my only sister).....we lost her after a short battle with cancer in 2016.  Each year, our little village where I grew up & she lived....hangs beautiful memorial baskets on poles about the town....(sponsored by family members).....

I share with you this year's basket in loving memory of her....forever so loved & missed...

Thank you for allowing me to share that with all of you....

Because the "Ber" months are coming....I ordered a warm wrap for Clancy Mae....which will keep her snug & cozy during the winter.....

I love the turtleneck to keep the cold out.....the length is perfect for her....it's a bit loose around the middle...but she should grow into it....I'll share pic when she no longer requires her surgery wrap.  She is one week post-op today!

I have this awesome footwear in a chocolate brown colour....they are so comfy I ordered a second pair in pink.... I wear my current pair almost daily.....great for slipping on for taking Clancy Mae out, running errands and so on.....

I picked up this gorgeous cardigan a number of weeks ago....it is such a beautiful eggplant colour & fits amazing....I can wear it alone buttoned up or over another top....it is thick & a great weight...

And Clancy Mae's Christmas stocking arrived.... I'm obsessed!!  Santa Paws will have no problem finding her stocking hanging on the mantle...it's quite long & will hold a few surprises or two....

If anyone wants the Etsy sellers info.....let me know & I can share the link....the quality is exceptional...

I was coming through check out at Michaels the other day....and came across these two adorable items....I did pick up a package of the sponges....just because....

While out running errands, since I was close to the thrift store, I decided to pop in....it was relatively quiet....my first find....doxie bookends....

This Scentsy tart warmer was not in the best of condition....notice the chip....and why do people leave hardened wax when giving away or selling their warmers?  I wouldn't buy it for that reason alone.....not to mention it was way overpriced....it had a few "miles" on it.....

A pretty serving dish....anyone else finding the prices in thrift stores through the roof?  I know it can't be just here....everything in this store was "donated".....

I'm obsessed with this adorable butter dish...who doesn't love bees & butterflies?

These glasses were small & narrow....there were three of them....I really didn't need them so left them behind for someone else to enjoy....

I considered this for Clancy Mae's treats....but it just kept giving me "urn" vibes.....anyone else?

This pretty bowl was a good size...heaven knows I don't need any more bowls....but it's really pretty....and I do love pretty.....

This baby chick had a larger size Mama identical on another shelf....she likely would have fit in my cabinet....

And *sigh*..... yes I bought them....even though I'm certain I either have or have had them....I love to sit out o the deck....in my favourite spot & browse through them.....

My favourite spot on the deck....where I enjoy a cup of tea or a cold drink & get lost in a magazine...

Showers are forecast here for later this morning....shortly we will take Clancy Mae for a quick outing to the trail.....she only walks a few feet but it gives her a bit of an outing....one more week of R & R to go!!

A Visit To The Bookstore-And I Don't Read Books!!

In my defence....I went in search of a magazine I enjoy - to my disappointment....it wasn't there!  I used to read books all the time....then something happened...I now have the attention span of a gnat!!   I have tried to get back into reading....I even changed my interests in reading material to no avail.  

One failed attempt found me relaxing on the deck, with what promised to be an interesting read.  So, I began....until I realized my neighbours vehicle in his yard.  Hmmm....wonder why he was off work that day?  Back to my book.  I've never seen that bird here before, wonder what it is?   Back to my book...reading the same paragraph....again.  Oh, Mrs. So & So walking past.....stopped to have a conversation (15 minutes) then back to my book.  Re-read the same paragraph....again.   Then the waste truck emptied the cart....since I'm not into my book....I may as well go retrieve it.  

And I gave up my book.  Maybe someday I'll try again....but not this day.

Want to know what I did find?  Let's take a peek!  Pyjamas!  My only purchase.....but they are so comfortable!!  They were available in butter yellow, pink & blue....(my favourite).....each set came in its own little drawstring bag...

Not sure why a book store carries pyjamas....but I'm glad they do!!   And adorable Hallowe'en mugs!  

And covered mushroom & pumpkin candles - they smelled amazing!!!  I was so tempted.....

A couple of adorable re-usable canvas bags.....to carry books maybe?

No explanation on why I found this one exceptionally adorable....and I could use another bag, right?

Almost spooky season....

And....I left with pyjamas....no magazine or book!  I popped into a discount store....they had candles there too....only $10 each....less the cost of the ones at the book store.....but again....I looked but didn't touch!

I might be getting good at this....

These tins were on sale.....I use liquid laundry detergent....and the box holding my dryer sheets seems to be doing it's job.....and I have no where to set a tin....a shelf over the washer & dryer is out of reach...I'd need a step ladder....so on the dryer.....in their box....the dryer sheets will remain.....

By this time, my stomach was telling me it was way past lunch time....so I headed home.  The weather today promises to be another warm one....then we are going into a cool down for a few days....with some showers & rain on the way.  We had a thundershower the other night....complete with heat lightening!  A rare occurrence here .....

Clancy Mae continues her recovery.....a couple more days of pain medication....and ten more days of R & R.  She doesn't bother with her incision site....of course it is covered....but she doesn't make any attempt to chew or lick so that is a win!
