New Fire Pit

Finally, after days & days of rain & cold temps...the sun is out!  And the sky is blue!  Even with the miserable weather the last few days....tulips, daffodils, crocus and even the Lentin rose....are all about to bloom!

Our current fire pit...has a few holes in the bottom...and this one will be arriving any day now!  An early Mother's Day gift...it's good to be me!

I have wanted this model for some time now...the current fire pit is round & requires a metal mesh cover. This one keeps the wood & fire contained by closing the door.  Mr. Seventies has a cement pad down which it will sit upon.... to the left of the storage shed.  Because the back walk to the shed is being extended...as is the vegetable garden...a good distance from the shed is great placement for it.

I had a few minutes before an appointment the other day...so popped into the thrift shop!  I saw these adorable owl mugs...for $2.99 each...

They looked similar enough to these ones on Amazon (priced at $26.99 for two).....

I found this one nearby on another shelf...it's a closer look to the ones on Amazon...for under $3.00...a mug cheaper price tag too!

We enjoyed birthday celebrations over the weekend as daughter & son-in-law's birthdays are only a few days apart!  Delicious meal of bar-b-que steak & chicken with baked potatoes & all the fixins'.....and completed with birthday cake & candles!

Glad you could stop by today & spend a bit of time with me!  I hope you have an awesome day!

Stop on over at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday!

  1. Charlotte, your new deck looks fabulous and how great that hubby can put it together. Also love your new fire pit - that will be great in the summer. It looks very safe - I always worry about the embers from open fire pits... The Birkenstocks are great too - I have some knock offs and even they are super comfortable. In fact, I've worn them out. Happy to see that you are having such fun there (apart from the dust mites) and wishing you a fantastic Mother's Day.

  2. Thank you...Mr. Seventies did an awesome job building the deck....it was at his brother's house in Nova Scotia. My new fire pit arrived...no worries about embers....it's screened in...with a door...although most fire pits are open with a removable wire mesh cover...similar to my previous one. Wishing you a beautiful Mother's Day as well!!
