It's been a minute since we (and by we...I mean Mr. Seventies) painted the master bedroom! The main hold out - finding lamp for the night tables. After weeks of frustration...I finally settled on a set I can tolerate - only to find ones I'm obsessed with...but didn't purchase...(more on that farther down) .......in the first photo you can see the lamps I settled on....
Liesel's warm & cozy crate....covered during the winter months....she loves burrowing in at bedtime.....
Now....for the lamps I came across....(after I had settled for ones out of frustration)....and I didn't purchase....
My reasoning at the time for not purchasing them - they weren't as tall as I wanted....so I left them! Silly woman. And of course, when I returned to buy them.....someone had purchased one! I was heartbroken. My friend in New Brunswick checked in the stores where she lives....but no luck....
Daughter now reports the second one is gone as well. Serves me right....I know better. I'll keep checking...but am not hopeful. So....moving on...
While thrifting one afternoon....I'd been searching for a bouquet of faux hydrangeas....any colour...(I knew I could dye them)....when I came across this pretty bunch...no dying required. And the ceramic vase I found on a separate shelf...
I had to brake suddenly.....the snow globe went flying to the floor.....smashed into bits....and broke the casserole into a gazillion pieces! Not to mention liquid & sparkles from the snow globe....went everywhere! As good as Mr. Seventies was able to clean & dry the area....it will be spring before the sprinkles can be fully vacuumed out! Looks like a party happening all the time....
My new to me dish....I paid around $5 for it....it was discount day at the thrift store....and just the size we need. If you haven't been pricing casserole dishes....be warned...they are crazy expensive now....
We had friends drop in for a much welcomed afternoon visit....they live on the Island....a couple of hours drive from us. It was wonderful to catch up....and they gave me a sweet floral bouquet....
Mr. Seventies has the stucco in the third bedroom removed! I suspect the stucco was applied to hid that no drywall tape had been used where the walls meet the ceiling creating quite a gap. Thankfully, it's the only room where it was not used. Nothing in this seventies split surprises us anymore....
Rather than continue to wait for our usual seam filler.....since he is so busy....we have a lead on one who comes highly recommended ( the husband of our friend's niece). Hope to get in touch with him this week...fingers crossed he can squeeze in this small job...
In the meantime.....I've picked a paint colour for the walls....I'm not shy about colour...as you know if you've been reading here for a while! This is the bedding set from Waverly that will be going on the twin bed....with matching window valances.
I carried a valance with me to the paint store & brought home a few paint chips....and pulled a colour to go on the walls. It's bold..... you can be certain it isn't beige...
And lastly.....I can't say enough about this charger I was gifted for Christmas! It can charge phones, ear pods and Apple Watch. No more fishing for charger cords....this sets on the counter...ready for use when needed. It plugs into any outlet...and charges my iPhone and Mr. Seventies Samsung phone...
Join me later today, as I will be sharing over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphis Monday...

Thanks for hanging out with me today....I so appreciate you being here...
Til next time.....
Charlotte, your bedroom update looks fabulous! I'm sorry about the lamps (they were definitely pretty) but the black ones with the white shades look really nice too. The waverly bedding is gorgeous too - I can imagine the fun in choosing a paint color lol. I am going wallpaper shopping tomorrow - kind of excited actually, although I have no expectations that I'll come home with anything. Sorry about the snow globe and casserole dish - it must have been a huge mess. Happy shopping at Home Sense and have a great rest of the week my friend!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim - I hope you have success searching for wallpaper - it's making a comeback! I did my share of wallpapering in the 90'3 & daughter just finished papering the vanity wall in their main bath! You have an awesome week as well, my friend!!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks fabulous! I love the black and white toile against the rusty pink. Good luck getting ceiling fixed quickly on the other bedroom.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanne for your sweet words! I love the pink as well! It will be great to have the other bedroom done for sure! Have an awesome week!
DeleteOh, that's a shame about the lamps. I've learned to always buy something I love when I see it, cause I can always return it later if it doesn't work out. And that's a great casserole dish...thrift stores are the best places for finding stuff like that. Visiting from Talking About it Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteHI Amy & welcome! I know better than to second guess when I see something - as you are so right - you can always return it later. That is usually how I think too! Good reminder for me...
DeleteWell, the braking disaster might have sent me over the edge...I have those cord organizers, btw and I love them! Love the toile print on your linens - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteH Gina! My braking incident sure left our vehicle in a party mode..lol! Aren't the cord organizers great? Cords can be such a nuisance! Thank you - I love the toile as well...especially the black & white!!
DeleteI love the way you've decorated your bedroom. The lamps are great but I can see why you'd be disappointed about the ones you didn't get.
ReplyDeleteThank you & welcome!! I'm trying to move on from my missed opportunity with the lamps...lol. I haven't given up all hope tho!!
