Happy Monday!!! We've made it to the last week in January!! The bitter windchills have finally given way to more seasonal temperatures.....Liesel & I were able to get out for our walk yesterday. February is usually our coldest winter month - I'm sure we will be in another deep freeze then....
We bundled up with Liesel in tow & took a short road trip to Summerside and a few spots in between! I checked out one home decor shop....things look so bleak & bare after the holiday season...I love these bottle brush trees on clearance - original price was $49...each! They were marked down to $10 or so on a clearance table....
You'd think anyone who loves wax tarts as much as I do....would have grabbed a few bags of these. But you'd be wrong. I find this particular brand does not have much of a strong scent....or "throw" I think is the correct description. I purchased them years ago....a couple of times.....and was disappointed...
I don't know why I love these rope balls! But I do! They are giving me a little bit too much of a "coastal" vibe though....could be just me....
I had the opportunity to stop at the small shop housed in the old train station (next to our favourite bakery). The shop has so much "stuff"....you can barely get around & see everything! They could clear out half their stock.....and still have loads left! Everything....is piled....everywhere!
Can you see what caught my eye....immediately? There was no way I could even get to it....without asking the shop keeper to get it down for me...
If you guessed one of the crocks.....you get a gold star! I could not leave it there....
I have no idea where it will go.....I set it on the ledge in the family room....and there it still sits...temporarily though....
I continued to check things out...as much as I could without tripping or knocking anything over....I wanted this basket so bad....I had to zoom in to get a photo! Too much in the way to get to it....and it held too much stuff! No visible price...and I knew if I inquired....it would have to be emptied out & brought down...and that would take forever just to get to the cabinet it sat on. Maybe next time I visit....
By this time there were other shoppers joining me....and it was just too difficult to get around or take too many more photos...
I am obsessed with this large blue truck! I'm still considering it...I have a little idea for it...if it's still here when I visit next...
And with that....I headed for the door with my crock in tow! Mr. Seventies wanted cream cheese covered cinnamon rolls from the bakery next door....I picked up four....(he wanted six....but four had to suffice)....since we had picked up a pizza to take home from our favourite pizza place! Thoroughly enjoyed our little day-cation!
Inspired Living is bringing in these adorable ducks!! My neighbour & I will be visiting when they arrive...we both need one....or two....and have plans to do lunch afterwards....these ones are my favourite...
As are these ones....oh okay....I'm crushing on them all....they have shorter versions as well....adorable!!
And....the seam filling is done!! We couldn't be happier with the end results! This guy was amazing.....came exactly when he said he would....cleaned up afterwards....did amazing work - he gets a two thumbs up from us!
Mr. Seventies has rolled on one coat of primer & two coats of ceiling paint....and today he starts the walls....oh I just love pretty flat ceilings! That is the end of the popcorn ceiling in this Seventies Split!!
I picked up the quilt set & bedskirt from the laundry....as expected they did a beautiful job....everything sweet smelling & freshly pressed!
Mr. Seventies busy brining in bags of pellets for the wood stove....with the cold temperatures we've had both the pellet stove and heat pump keeping us toasty warm....
And Liesel was excited to have a couple new toys.....she doesn't care they are Christmas themed...and on clearance.....I think Miss Gingerbread is already missing her bow....
Many thanks for hanging out with me today....wishing you an awesome day wherever you are!!
My mother in law loves shops like that but I too get overwhelmed with all the stuff everywhere and am afraid to ask about items-- like what if they emptied that basket, brought it down, and then you didn't want it? After making someone go through all that I almost feel obligated to buy it just for the fuss (even though I know I shouldn't!). Glad the room is coming along nicely!
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne!! Paint stores overwhelm me....lol! I thought the same thing - I didn't want them to bring down the basket - just to get a price - they would have to look it up, for sure. And I would have felt obliged to buy it - and I'm certain it was pricey!!
DeleteHi Charlotte! It looks like you had a great time shopping. The new cannister is adorable and I'm crushing on the blue truck too! Wow, that was a crowded shop - wouldn't have wanted them to go to the trouble to bring anything down either. So happy for you about your ceiling and can't wait to see it when you put it altogether. Take care over there my friend - we are destined for some miserably cold weather this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHey, Kim! I really love that shop-I wish they would take out about half of what they have crowded in it! Each time I have visited - it has been total chaos! But I love it just the same! Ugh - sorry to hear more cold weather is headed your way - we're out of the deep freeze for now - still blustery & snowy! Wishing you an awesome week my friend! Stay warm!!
DeleteI would love to go in that shop, but it's a shame you saw something you liked and would have bought, but for all the stuff in front and the stuff in the basket. That doesn't make good business sense. Still, I would love the shop. Have a great week, take care.
ReplyDeleteHI Leslie & welcome!! I agree - it's a great shop; but too much stuff!!
