Thrifting - Part #2

It's been quite a week with both Mr. Seventies & I battling miserable colds!  It's hanging around for way too long!  And today is my birthday!!  We plan to celebrate with family over the weekend...hopeful we'll be feeling better by then!

Earlier in the week....we had a full day of miserable freezing rain & ice pellets!!  And the tulips are poking through the dirt!!!  So there is that...

Everything was covered with a layer of ice....and with the following day being warm & sunny....we could hear ice  falling & crashing on the decks & see it melting on the trees & shrubs!  Happy it didn't cause any damage or issues with our power....and we are back into spring like weather again!

On my last thrifting venture.....I stumbled upon a couple of Certified International platters....you know I wanted to bring this one home!  But with no room in my cabinet....or the shelves underneath....I was forced to leave it behind for some other lucky person....

These platters sell for $90 and up (the one above I suspect has been discontinued).....this colourful poppies beauty is still available though....I see a couple on eBay....and the prices vary.  Shipping charges are crazy....with the cost being more than the item a lot of times....

Someone will snatch the platters up....if for nothing more than to re-sell them & make a profit.  Growing up....we had this exact Corningware tea pot sitting on a trivet on our stove....they are so durable & it's no wonder they are still popular & used today....

I previously was such a collector of Hot Diggity Dog dachshund figurines....and proudly owned a huge number of them...I've since downsized my collection.... a few years back I would have snatched up this one...

I'm obsessed with this festive tea pot....such a great piece to display during the holiday season....

Someone spent a great deal of time building & tole painting this piece.  The drawers are non-working....a lot of work went into it....again though with the crazy pricing....thrift store prices have about tripled here...

This pitcher has a really unique spout....sorry I didn't get a better photo of it...a bit lax of me....

This little bouquet almost came home with me....I'd have pulled out the roses & dyed them!  Same with the faux statice.  Regret not snatching it up....

It's well documented I'm a fool for anything Hallowe'en...this adorable spider bucket could hold some candy corn...or be used for a fall floral arrangement....(I left it behind tho)...

And that was the extent of my thrifting venture!  I ordered these pretty cushion covers on Amazon & am really happy with the quality, colours & fabric!  (one looks lighter but that is just the lighting).....their true colour shows best on the cushion on the right....

In other news, my neighbour (who has been my go-to for surgery info)....having undergone replacements on both knees...is not having great luck with her last one!  A CAT scan is required to see why it is failing....so that is worrisome!  She has offered me the use of her walker (a must for after surgery)...but I likely will rent one for the time I will be needing one!

I'm pleased the surgery will done in time for healing....to be in the pool when it's time!  The wait time is 4-6 weeks afterwards...(that will depend on healing)....I'm attending physio in preparation...

I will need to get out & about a number of times before it happens.... I won't have much mobility for a few weeks afterwards....the blog will likely be a lot quieter!

I hope you will continue to stop by & share a bit of your day with me....I will need the company....

Wishing you an awesome weekend....I hope it's feeling like spring wherever you are...

Til next time.....
