It is wonderful to have our own family doctor (we haven't for over two years since ours closed his practice). I phoned our physician's office Monday morning - and we had an appointment a couple of hours later!
Mr. Seventies has an inguinal hernia - where the bowel protrudes through a weak spot in the lower abdomen....causing a painful bulge.
He managed to get little sleep over the weekend...pain meds did help a bit. While at the physician's office - she spoke with a surgeon & we hope to have him undergo surgery to repair the hernia in the coming weeks. In the meantime....he's wearing a compression belt...which is helping.
The difficult task - is keeping him on the down low! He's not one to sit around...but thankfully knows that is exactly what he has to do until surgery is done & he is well again. Receiving so much snow....and not being able to shovel..our amazing son-in-law and two grand daughters were here to clear out our walkways. (we've had a contractor hired for years who keeps our driveway clear).
Son-in-law also brought up enough pellets (or fireballs as our little grand daughter calls them) from the furnace room downstairs to last until the weekend. Son-in-law will make a trip to Home Depot with Mr. Seventies, on Saturday to load & bring in a number of bags....which is a huge help... since Mr. Seventies cannot lift anything (pellet bags are 40 pound bags).....and I cannot carry them....
We received quit a bit of snow....although with the high winds....it drifted worse in some places...like the front door & steps....we had very little snow prior to this storm....
I haven't been out since the storm.... these are a few photos I was able to get .......
There's a pool under all that snow ........ summer's swimming water......thank you Mother Nature....
I'm hoping we don't get another dumping of snow anytime soon....that is usually what happens! Today the sky is blue & the sun is out....so there is that! And we are soon heading into March!
Yay for that!!
Until next time.....
