Great Company, Great Food & Great Shopping!!

We had a wonderful family weekend with my nephew & wife, daughter & family....and of course the cutest wiener dog on the planet!

The weather left much to be desired....wet, windy & cool....but we made the best of it!  We enjoyed meals making home made subs, pizza delivery, home made chicken soup & fresh rolls...and burgers & hot dogs on the barbecue served with potato salad, coleslaw, & French fries in the air fryer!  Followed by chocolate peanut butter ice cream, mixed with two bite brownies & chocolate sauce drizzled over it all!!  Lots of beverages & snacks on hand as well....

One of the many reasons I adore Allison (my nephew's wife)....the gal loves to shop!  And has impeccable decorating taste...so of course our first stop was Inspired Living!  She hadn't been to the store's new location....and was thrilled with the larger store....and so much inventory!  She purchased paw print hooks for their pups leashes & bedsheets for one of their guest bedrooms....

This stack of decorator books caught my eye....how pretty are they?

As always, Inspired Living carries a huge assortment of framed canvases....this one could be any harbour in Prince Edward Island....

Love this....almost purchased it to hang in the back entry....perfect for our Island home...

And this barn canvas....also perfect as farming is such a huge way of life here....gorgeous...

Hmmm......did I need a cow head?  It sure would leave Mr. Seventies shaking his head if I came home with it....

I am crushing so hard on all three of these....I need a bigger house.....with bigger rooms....these are my favourite pieces....

A couple of cute wooden mice....and the little piece with the bow....perfect for just about anything.....

This pitcher is beautiful....I had to resist it....I have quite a few....wondering though if I could use one more?  Maybe?

This large wicker tray could be used in a variety of ways....on a coffee table, large stool....of to carry beverages & food items.....it is swoon worthy.....

It was so busy when we were out & about and in the stores.....it was raining....and when it rains....people shop!  We popped into the mall....Bath & Body Works has not opened yet!  Their "spring opening" timeline....might change to "summer opening" at this rate.....

We decided to check out Home Sense....Allison was fortunate to find four solar lamps for her outside covered eating area....and a gorgeous throw for a guest bedroom!  They recently purchased new master bedroom furniture....she picked up a few decor pieces for that room as well.....

Nothing says Canada more than a beaver wearing Canadian baseball hat (and holding a hockey stick).....luv it!!

I crushed on these pieces big time....if there had been a second mug...I would not have resisted!  I think it's the bold colours that I'm attracted to....

A few beautiful sunflowers.....one of my favourite annual flowers.....I hope we have success with the seeds we purchased for "blue" sunflowers we plan to grow....

These guys "quacked" me up....wishing they were made for the outdoors....they'd be cute on the deck or in the garden....

And this was my one & only purchase.....I was disappointed in myself!  But nothing really caught my eye....nothing I "just had to have".  That happens sometimes....so I just enjoyed watching Allison pick up pieces for their home....

This summer Clancy would be needing a safety harness for dips in the pool...after failed attempts to contact the seller of one on FB Marketplace......I purchased this for only a few more dollars....XS size are a bit difficult to find.  This one looks smaller than it actually is....it is closed up for easy of packaging....but should be the perfect size for use in a couple of months....

Mr. Seventies & I are having a "down day"..... it is shaping up to be a beautiful sunny, warmer day...the perfect time to strip bedding & hang on the clothesline....first time in 2026!

Clancy & I attended puppy class....one other dog...a large golden lab puppy.....much bigger than her!  We worked with our pups separately.....a bit of difficulty since Clancy has only just arrived.....and is not familiar with her name!  She is food motivated though...and that is a huge help!  We have three exercises to practice on this week....the third being a tug game using a rope style toy.....which is Clancy's least favourite.....she is not familiar with rope toys....

We are signed up to participate in four additional classes....and potty training....is hit or miss!  Hard to get the timing down just right....but it will come!  She is officially eleven weeks old now....having her first vet visit tomorrow!

In my opinion, she is on the thin side...actually seeing ribs....but Mr. Seventies assures me she just hasn't filled out yet.  He could be right....as she eats well....so far three times each day.  It's a learning process not only for her, but us as well!

Silly pup...she did master the pet steps in barely a minute....

Be sure to& join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphosis Monday & again tomorrow at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesday....

As always, thanks so much for visiting with me today....so grateful you stopped by....

Til next time.....

  1. Loved going shopping with you and Allison. Always fun. And this way, I don’t have to spend any money, lol. Clancy is in training to be a puppy. Hard work, sometimes. Have fun, you two. Hugs, Elaine
