It's been a very productive few days...all the door casings and base mouldings have been installed, caulked & nail holes filled & painted. The bedrooms were the last rooms that needed to be done.
We spent the weekend cleaning...steam cleaning floors (great for sanitizing)...daughter picked up a load of decor stash she wanted...and the trunk of the SUV is full for stuff to be dropped off at the Mission store. It was a perfect time...when clothes closets were empty...to purge and organize clothes more efficiently. I admit...I have a lot of clothes...keep that between us.
This week...Mr. Seventies plans to finish the interior doors...this is their current stage...
With a little bit of sanding...and a few fresh coats of paint...I'm loving how they are going to look! The bedroom closet doors we left plain...they are getting freshened up as well...so the colours (window frames, casings and mouldings) will all be consistent in colour.
Mr. Seventies also gave the bathroom a fresh coat of paint...same colour....we had paint left over...and decided to use it up.
We removed the headboard from our bed...I've not been a fan of it really since we purchased it. I was going to send it to the Mission Store...when Mr. Seventies suggested I put it on FB Marketplace. Within five minutes of posting it...it sold & was picked up within the hour. Glad he suggested it! Sometimes it's not worth the hassle of trying to sell stuff...and sometimes it works out. I know everyone says you need a headboard...but I'm not in a hurry to replace it.
And......the accent chair arrived! Peeps...I am over the moon in love with this chair! I was a tad nervous ordering a piece of furniture from Amazon...but it is perfect! Really lovely quality at an exceptional price! Isn't she pretty?
I had mentioned previously the plan to re-paint my makeup vanity...white is rather boring. I chose the colour Pink Salmon by Behr. Wowsers....what a fun colour!
So that's the progress so far. It is going to take a bit of time to get everything put together...but it will be nice to have it done before the nice weather hits...and we can focus our attention on the outside areas...the decks and steps will need fresh coats of stain. Snow and shovels are hard on decks...and show their wear and tear. The pool water is unfrozen...we usually get it operational about mid May...depending on the weather each year. I'm hoping for another repeat of last summer's weather...hot & dry!
Mr. Seventies ordered his garden seeds early and online this year...as with Covid seeds can be in short supply. His will ship when it gets closer to planting time. He never plants before June...if the ground is still wet & cold...nothing will grow. And we always have an abundant garden...so his planting schedule works.
Hope you have an awesome day & thanks so much for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment...would love to hear from you.
