Christmas Decorating & Trends Show

Welcome to December friends!!  Only 24 days left til Christmas - are you ready?  Or getting there?

I attended a local interior designer's Christmas Decorating & Trends Show with a couple of friends and my neighbour...it was a fun evening.  We went to dinner before the show - at a local pub - never have I eaten a better club sandwich!  (and I'm not a sandwich kind of gal!).

It's difficult to see the full scope of what was demonstrated - the show is held in the theatre of a local school - the designer really makes the show.  He is terribly witty & interacts with the audience and very approachable to answer questions - during intermission we were able to view everything - and draws were held with  lucky audience members taking home an item he made during the show.  (No...my name wasn't drawn....darn it!!).  In this photo he is in the midst of decorating one of two trees he put together....and that is vodka water he is sipping on!!  The second tree was given away....decorations & all!

He 's put together and decorated 87 trees this season for various businesses and home owners!  His own home (where a one evening house tour is being held) brags 27 trees!!  I'm grateful to get 1 up!
Here he is demonstrating putting a lighted wreath (notice the slippers)...

And this is when it is completed!  He also shares where he sources most of his decor....from dollar stores, Michaels, Home Sense - even Wal Mart!  Although he shared he usually buys all that is on the shelves!

The show was sponsored by Inspired Living...the decor shop I tend to visit....frequently.  I plan to pick up a couple of pretty candles he displayed....(battery operated)...and one that is a real candle from Indigo...that smelled amazing...I've got to have one. My neighbour added they are worth the $$ - and available at Indigo.  So that is on my places to go today!

The fireplace...was sectional!  It fully comes apart...and handy for events like this!  He did a couple of mantle swags...the first one was pretty....my photos aren't doing things justice.  Hard to get photos and not the back of peoples head....

This white one started out looking pretty questionable...but when finished it was my favourite!  I wish our brick mantle was wider...that is the issue I have!  It's so narrow...it's difficult to come up with anything I'm happy with.  I'm regretting my decision of no mantle when we had the brick fireplace built a few years ago.   Maybe if my dream of removing the pellet stove and switching to a propane fireplace....would be the perfect time to have a wooden beam mantle built!  I haven't given up on that yet....still working on getting Mr. Seventies on board....

And....garlands in just about every store here have sold out!  Amazon carries them...with a hefty price tag though.  Notice the change of clothes....sparkly shoes and all!   This was done after intermission...we enjoyed refreshments of cold drinks and sweets!

It looks pinky in the photo...but that's from the overhead lights.   I couldn't capture a decent photo....but I am obsessed with this one....

Just a few photos I could get of the evening....we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. In rodent news...the  technician is returning today to check the traps....he was due on Tuesday....but got called away.  Be interesting to see if anything has been caught...inside or out.

We have a fun weekend planned spending it my nephew & wife....seeing their beautiful new home completed & decorated for Christmas for the first time!  And the chance to love on their Frenchies!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have an awesome weekend....until next time....
