Christmas In July!!

My friend picked me up & we enjoyed a browse around our favourite (well...one of them..) home decor store!!  Who doesn't love a Christmas in July sale??

The sale was a two day event....and since I was still unable to drive...(three more days til that ends)....we decided to make an afternoon of it!!  Lots of pretty cardinals on hand...

There was a great buy on Christmas cushions....my friend was able to score two of these...

This tiered tray could be used year round....there are three little legs on the bottom....luv it!!!

These snowmen are adorable...and squish ably soft!  The resemble birch...but are really lightweight...

Nothing more needs to be said...lol..

I'm crushing on these wooden pieces....

And may have brought a few home with me...

My whole reason for taking in the sale....these awesome Christmas bells!  They sold out in a blink last year...and I was determined to pick up three!!

Success!!  I plan to tie them together with rope & perhaps hang them off the side of the fireplace during the holidays...

I feel the Grinch craze of last year has had its time....but there were a few pieces available...for anyone who still loves a Very Grinchmas Christmas...

These candle holders look like wood, right?  They are actually ceramic...I prefer they be wooden....but they are still great pieces!!

There's a back room in the shop which is all bedding...quilts, sheets and every size bed pillow a person would need...I saw a couple of these Kate Spade quilt sets going out the door...

My friend obsessed over this sofa for quite some time!  It's a beautiful, Canadian made piece...very well constructed with gorgeous, durable fabric!!  She mentioned some "people" advised her against choosing a "coloured" sofa...but to stick with a neutral....such as beige, grey or brown!  Yawn!  Who are these people? And are they going to live in your home?

No?  Then buy what "you" love!  It's your home...and you can easily switch out your accessories & sofa cushions.   So go ahead...purchase that blue sofa!!  Don't deny what your heart wants....

That just about concludes our celebration of Christmas in July!  The store was starting to get busy...we paid for our goodies and headed out the door!   I wish they would bring in some fall & Halloween awesomeness...and plan to ask the owner to see if he can accommodate  (he's a great guy..)....

The valances for the kitchen arrived & I'm obsessed with them!  I waited before ordering curtain rods....I chose two of these  3/4" round black ones. (since there are two kitchen windows).  The rods will need to be placed above the window frames...there is little room over the window above the kitchen sink as a cabinet so close to the window frame...and need to accommodate that....

And....this little cutie is celebrating her 10th birthday today!!  I cannot believe how the years have gone by so quickly...

An adorable baby pic...when she was still with her breeder in Ontario...just look at that face!!!

Here she is not long after her arrival...heading out for an evening walk with her big brother, Oskar.  How adorable are they in their cozy sweaters??

For those who don't know...she was four months old when she came to us.  At six weeks old she had to undergo life saving surgery to remove a hair follicle that had taken root in her eye!   Her dedicated breeder spent over $2,200 as putting her "down" was not an option!  And we are grateful every day for her heartfelt decision.  Anyone who says they "breed for the money".... is dead wrong.  Good breeders dedicate their lives for betterment of the breed....and our breeder was no exception!

And our little wire hair today!  She's got a few more silver highlights (but then...so do I)....and loves going in the car...we take her 99% of the time...when one of us can wait in the car with her.  She is never, ever left unattended in our SUV....

Along with a couple new toys...this new Ruffwear harness is on order!  Now...I am a true believer in supporting local.... this same harness at the pet supply store is $66.99 + taxes.  The exact same harness on Amazon..$42.99 + taxes  Easy decision.... I ordered from Amazon....

And since it's Monday...please join me later over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphis Monday!

And tomorrow a couple more great link parties with Marty at https://www.astrollthrulife.net/ for Inspire Me Tuesday and Joanne at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesdays!!!

It's going to be a hot one here today....definately a pool day!!  (my brain has been in "fall" mode though).  How about you?  Are you seeing any fall decor where you are?

Thank you for spending a bit of your time with me....and til next time...

  3. I am so looking forward to the fall and winter seasons. While I enjoy some parts of summer, the heat and humidity are not my favorite. Love the bells and the "birch" snowmen.
