Today is Islander Day - a provincial statutory holiday! In other provinces it's known as Family Day or Heritage Day.....here it's Islander Day......
Since it is a holiday most stores, schools, businesses & government services are closed today. There is a winter festival happening....known as the Jack Frost Festival....aimed at families gathering for many outdoor & indoor activities....sledding, tubing, skating, horse & buggy rides and indoors there is bouncy castles, face painting....and loads of other activities for kids & their families. Grand daughter here has a busy day of fun ahead!
I've come across a few "must have" pieces...these two items I ordered on Amazon...I'm crushing on these shoes big time....can't wait for them to arrive ......
Since I returned the pull on denim capris to Old Navy.... I was searching on Amazon and came across these....which is more what I had in mind with the elastic waist & tie .... (elastic is a girl's best friend).....
These are "barrel leg" jeans....I've never owned a pair....or tried them on.... I'm excited to see how they fit on me....
I couldn't resist this adorable night shirt....it's cute & thick enough to be worn during the summer days as well...it washed great....and I hung it to dry. We plan to pick up an indoor drying rack (a metal one)......as I need somewhere to hang most of my sweaters to dry. Remember the wooden ones? So aggravating to use.....hopefully the metal ones are sturdier....
The photos of this cardigan do not do it justice....it is so gorgeous! A Winners find.... it's snap closure....the pretty florals are not buttons....just decorative. It is such a thick, beautiful cardigan....photos do no capture the amazing shade of green.....
I've mentioned previously I no longer purchase table runners at Home Sense....there are so much cheaper on Temu....and there are hundreds available in various lengths to chose from. This 72" runner was a whopping $6.17!
Since Michaels is next door to Old Navy.... I decided to take a quick browse around .... spring has definately sprung there! A few gorgeous wreaths...... on BOGO! The first & last ones are my favourite...
A stack of "faux" books available ...... followed by a "faux leather" cushion....
Remember before Christmas when I shared this adorable poodle? It came in this colour, a softer pink and burgundy. Well...now they are on for 75% off! I didn't pick one up..... if it had been a dachshund....maybe.....
Remember when these "peeps" were a thing? Maybe they still are....but I find them nothing less than gag worthy! Growing up....my birthday cake (in the spring).....was always covered in "boiled icing".... (again gag worthy) and these marshmellow thingeys.....I detested those cakes! And got one every year!
I never shared that with my Mom or my sister who went above & beyond for decorating & celebrating my birthday....and the preparations done for my party .......
This dainty over the door wreath hanger is everything..... I see it being used inside the home..... to hang a wreath on a bedroom door....
It's fairly mild here these last few days..... we're enjoying getting out for walks daily. The pups are six weeks old today..... our son-in-law threw the name "Clancy" for a boy into the name mix! Ugh. I love it too! So Yancy or Clancy....it will be one if we are blessed with a boy....
We celebrated a low key Valentines Day....gifting each other with cards, chocolates & gift cards... (I received a gift card to Home Sense/Winners).....yay! Today we're putting a chicken stew in the crock pot....with dumplings!! A great hardy winter meal!!
Join me later today over at https://betweennapsontheporch.net/ for Metamorphosis Monday and again tomorrow at https://www.myslicesoflife.com/ for Talking About It Tuesday.....
Thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!
Til next time.....

Fun to go shopping with you. Love the pretty sweater, too. Have a lovely holiday Monday. I’m with you on the Peeps! Hugs, Elaine
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine!! Glad she share the same distaste for Peeps!! (((hugs)))
DeleteI have a good doll buddy who is from Buffalo NY, and does the most original sounding "Scahlet" Southern accent, who also loves Peeps so much she rushes out the "day after", buying all she can find and puts them in the freezer. Enough so that she can make it for a year. I seriously don't like Peeps--I'm with you on that, Susan. I wonder if they would substitute for the marshmallows in S'mores"? Another food item I don't imbibe in.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol & welcome! I have cousins in Maine....and they pronounce my name the same..."Scahlet" as well!! We share the same distaste for Peeps!!
DeleteHi Charlotte. I've never tasted those peeps but I'm definitely not a fan of marshmallows so I doubt I'd like them. The sweater you found is really pretty. I'm glad you are having such good luck with Temu - I've only ordered one runner from them and the colours ran - before I even washed it. However, the selection in HomeSense leaves a lot to be desired lately so maybe I'll give them another try. We are having Family Day here - along with a snow storm but hope you had a great day over there and take care, my friend!
ReplyDeleteAren't the peeps awful? Glad I am not alone in my distaste! I order runners on Temu - some a great quality - others I wouldn't
Deleteattempt to wash (haven't had to yet). Take care my friend!
That sounds like such a fun holiday! I love that cardigan and you'll have to let us know what you think of the jeans. They look like they'd be a great addition to my spring wardrobe. Those wreaths are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne. I love the cardigan...I'll update when the jeans arrive. I'm loving those wreaths too!
