Can you believe it? Tomorrow we are into August and getting a bit of reprieve from the heat and humidity! Last evening was the first time it was cool enough to light the fire pit...and toast a few marshmallows!! Mr. Seventies was just getting it lit in this photo....it was still a bit windy....but once it died down he built a great fire...
Our wire girl celebrated her 9th birthday! Where have the years gone...it doesn't seem possible she was born July 29th with five sister siblings! And they looked just like her!! She didn't arrive to us until November...at six weeks old she underwent surgery on one eye to remove a hair follicle that was growing there! Crazy to think of it...but her amazing breeder chose to spend over $2,200 to have it removed....so Liesel could live a long & healthy life. We are grateful for that every day....
Look what came on sale BOGO at Michael's? I didn't have to wait long did I? These candles were selling fast....and I couldn't resist the witch's legs (also BOGO)....I'm thinking these will look adorable sticking out of a bubble filled cauldron...I'll have to wait & see how they look....
And while I was at Michael's I took a quick browse around....as new decor items had been set out. Like this adorable heart shaped cushion....might want this for the master bedroom....
And a nod to a couple of these adorable cushions as well...
I'm sure not everyone loves these garlands like I do...but I find them adorable...and look awesome hung across a mantle or window...a couple more of my favourites....little ghosts and a strand of candy corn...
A sweet pumpkin planter...could be used as a table centrepiece...or hearth...
Not that I'm trying to rush the seasons...but when I came across a Canadian website Retro Festive that carries grinch ornaments....I jumped on the chance to order a few. (not a sponsored post...I'm just eager to share)....these are some I've ordered...as I'm certain they will sell out quickly....
And these were added to my order....absolutely free of charge! What a wonderful gesture....and adorable!!
I think our Grinchmas tree is coming together beautifully!! I'm considering adding wired ribbon garland...I picked up a couple of brand new rolls at the thrift store - a good start! And maybe a few red and green balls. I have some tree decorations in my stash that will fit in perfectly I think as well....
Tomorrow voting will take place on the local beautiful gardens contest...I entered ours....for Mr. Seventies since he is the resident gardener. A pretty little rose in bloom...
I don't think the lilies were in bloom when the city was here taking photos....but they are showing off some spectacular colours now...
Loving this cluster of them...most are behind the pool deck....and I'm pretty certain these weren't captured for the contest....but no matter. We enjoy them immensely...
This patch of Astilbe is so pretty...and the little Japanese lanterns have begun to form, can you see the little green pods? When mature they will be a bright orange....and great to add to my stems in my car boy jugs. I wish the Astilbe would dry....and stay as the look now...but that won't be the case...
We are enjoying fresh veggies from the garden the past few days....nothing more delicious than new potatoes, beet greens, pease and lettuce for fresh garden salads!! It's wonderful to have fresh vegetables this time of year.
With all the hot weather....the corn is growing...can't wait for the first feed of fresh corn on the cob...
And we have an abundance of leaf lettuce...nothing better than picking fresh lettuce for a salad...or for a sandwich...
And the raspberries are coming in! We usually have small feeds of them right into November!!
A few pretty butterflies have been seen in and around the butterfly house...apparently if you place sliced fruit inside...it attracts them. We chose not to do that....I don't want a yard full of rodents and who knows what else coming to check it out.....
Those are some wonderful finds! It's crazy to see all the Halloween stuff in stores already. I am not ready to let go of summer. How did the voting go for your garden? Thank you for linking up with Tell It To Me Tuesday, I hope to see you again this week!
