Nursery Wall Reveal

We decided not to have the whole wall be a mural...it was felt it would over whelm the room...so we decided the wall required a focal point rather than the entire wall.  The nursery room is not a huge room...so this was a wonderful compromise.

Friend and artist extraordinaire Martina arrived with projector in tow...and set right to work....

We took a few minutes and decided on the location...

And then she began....I could have watched her for hours....but who wants someone over their shoulder when they paint, right?   In progress.....

And the finished product....we are all "over the moon"!!  How adorable is this?  If you look closely you can see the tiny stars...and I'm crushing on that pink heart!!

The view after we starting putting the nursery back together....baby girl's Mom & Dad are loving the results...and big brother Benson is the "model" for the doxie on duty...keeping a watchful eye.  After Sweet Pea makes her debut....Martina has offered to return and put her name somewhere in the mural....

I love than Benson has his own bed and blanket in baby's room...although for the first few weeks she will be in her bassinet in with her parents.....he has become accustomed to snuggling in her room....waiting...

A comfy spot for snuggling and rocking.....

Our oldest grand daughter Dana had a nasty fall over the weekend down a set of steps...and unfortunately broke a bone in her ankle!!  I teased thank heavens it wasn't her hand...how on earth would a teen text?  lol!  It was fortunate she had her phone....she was able to call her Mom to come, since she was unable to get up or put weight on her foot!  Straight to the Emergency Room they drove and 4 1/2 hours later....she was sporting new footwear on her left foot!

They applied a cast with a walking boot over the foot....but the Dr. advised to stay off her foot for a few days.  Thankfully, she has PD days at the community college she attends and is not required back in class until mid week.  And her boyfriend (also attends NSCC) happened to have a set of crutches for her to use.  On Friday she will have another x ray to see how the bone is mending. Last evening she was feeling better....the pain medication has been helping.

Mr. Seventies and I celebrated post Valentines Day with a dinner date over the weekend.  Downtown was buzzing since it was Jack Frost Festival weekend....and the weather...although cold...couldn't have been better!   We had tried to get a photo of the two of us once we reached the pub....but it was very crowded....but Mr. Seventies snapped this one of me before we left..I'm wearing my leather skirt and leopard booties (which I had to switch to winter boots before we left...). Looks like I have a roll..but it's the band of the skirt...that's my story & I'm sticking to it!!

I joked his wife was not available and she sent me instead!  He seemed okay with that!  We had a fun evening out!

Today is Islander Day...a provincial holiday...most businesses and provincial employees have the day off.  And for now...milder temperatures have returned!

Enjoy your day wherever you are!!
