The weather climbed to +20 C (68 F) on the weekend! And with loads of sun! Mr. Seventies spent Saturday cleaning every window on the main level...inside and out....including screens. And took down each set of shutters and washed and dried them on the deck...I normally dust them 1-2 a week...but a couple of times a year it's good to give them a good cleaning.
While he was puttering away at that....I made a batch of granola! It's delicious on its own...mixed in with plain yogurt or added as a topping. There is flax seeds, steel cut oats, almond butter, almond slivers, dried cranberries (my fav), walnut pieces, unsweetened coconut....sometimes I'll add a few raisins or dark chocolate chips....
It makes a good batch....but I have a hard time keeping Mr. Seventies from munching on it! We had supper with daughter & family....I took a container to them.....grand baby loves crunching on it!
Mr. Seventies brought out a couple of folding lawn chairs....and we had lunch on the small deck yesterday....Liesel basked in the warm sun. And.....we will definately be needing a privacy wall added to the end of the deck....with new builds in back of us....we've lost privacy. It's time to tear off the dachshund ramp (used more when we had three dachshunds at one time)....we carry Liesel out. Once the ramp is off...more pool deck wall will be added....and a new gate built (since Hurricane Fiona ripped off one partition of the old one)...and I've asked Mr. Seventies to build a gate at the end of the ped way (from the small deck to the pool deck). We need a gate there to keep Liesel from the pool deck floor...it gets extremely hot on paws and feet in the summer....
After our walk this morning...I picked the first garden bouquet of the season!! Hyacinth! They smell amazing!!
Mr. Seventies is anxious to fire up the garden tiller....but it's much too early to plant much of anything. He's expanded the flower garden on the side lawn a bit...just a bit. He also has my new fire pit put together...but still stored in the shed.
I will have another iron infusion tomorrow....and an additional one in two weeks. My levels are improving, but still no where near they should be.
Have to share...grand baby is a huge fan of Peppa Pig. A lady her Dad works with...made this for her!! Cutest thing ever! (and so is Peppa...)
Plan to be out & about today...have a grocery order to pick up later. And today is Metamorphosis Monday over at Between Naps on the Porch! I'll catch up on other blogger's week later this afternoon....hope you have time to check them out as well!!
