Daughter and I took in the Wayfair Truckload Sale...and we both were unimpressed...sorry to say. The sale, scheduled for Friday was delayed until Saturday. Now, we went with no expectations....not knowing what the sale would consist of. Sadly, it was a few pieces of Wayfair furniture set in the middle of the small store....with odds and sods of Christmas decor spread about. Nothing special...if anyone wants any items from Wayfair....ordering on their website is too easy. I'm not sure about the future of this shop...it appears they cannot find their niche. Moving on...we did a bit of thrifting, enjoyed a wonderful lunch and enjoyed the warm, sunny day.
In a few short weeks, baby girl will be making her debut! When her Mama was a toddler, she had a favourite stuffed doll....Patooty was her name. She was one in a line of dolls Kenner produced in the mid 1980's. Well....look what I stumbled upon on Ebay.....(gotta love Ebay!!)...Patooty!!!
She is the exact one daughter loved beyond life! Patooty is sold as "vintage"... but is very clean and in perfect condition! I hope my sweet grand baby loves her as much as her Mama did!
It appears this weekend was all about baby girl....and she will be needing a diaper bag...and of course one with dachshunds is a must! Her parents requested a backpack bag...much easier to manoeuvre....easy to slip on the back and leave hands free. This one fits the bill...is not too girly girl and is a generous size with pockets on both sides for extra storage....
And who doesn't love bunnies? There is a crafter here making and personalizing them, I ordered one...with the name to be put on after her arrival!
Lastly, on the baby front....a local photographer was offering an amazing deal for photo shoots for newborns between the ages of 7-14 days....for a Bump, Baby and Family fair being held here in May. (Anna Nicole, the photographer, is wanting additional portraits for her booth at the event). I passed the info to daughter and baby girl....will have a photo shoot done at the photographer's studio! We've seen some of Anna Nicole's portraits and they are gorgeous....so we are very excited to get in on this amazing offer. She had two spots left when daughter signed the contract....so it was perfect we jumped in when we did!!
In other news...another local crafter (and we love to support local) hand paints signs...for the various sports fans in your life....
Mr. Seventies and my nephew are New England Patriot fans....and son-in-law a die hard Green Bay Packers fan....I ordered a sign for each of them. They are gifts...Mr. Seventies will receive his with his Valentine stash, son-in-law has a birthday in early May and we'll take my nephew's sign with us when we visit in May or June. These are great for their man caves....Mr. Seventies will want to put his on the pool deck wall somewhere...so it will need to have a couple of coats of clear protective sealant. He could have a man cave...as the downstairs family room is available...all that would be required would be a t.v., but he prefers to be on the main floor. So, the pool deck wall it will be!
And on the house front...non exciting stuff will be happening...new gutters. While much needed....not exciting. And if you were wondering whatever happened to plans for a new storage shed...it was shelved when Paul injured his foot last fall....and he was laid up for over a month. Now if the shed was all they had to do, it wouldn't have been an issue....but it put their "real" jobs on hold and then late fall and winter set in.
He fully recovered and now apparently the shed is a go for this year. If not, I am going to order one pre-built and have it delivered. That makes them tremble at the mere mention...but the shed needs to happen this year!
Off to run some errands today...going to enjoy the mild temps while they continue! Have an awesome day!!
