My cabinet is finished!! And folks, I love it. Here is how it looked before....Mr. Seventies removed the top finial decorative piece and the distracting door pieces....
And here she is...(I feel like she is a she....)....all beautiful and full of my Masons Pink Vista Stoneware. Mr Seventies reports the Fusion Mineral Paint (the colour used was called Ash) was the best paint he'd ever worked with! New hardware picked up at Home Depot....since they were different in size from the old ones....the previous holes were filled, sanded and painted. The potato basket on the floor is from the same place the cabinet came from. I was pleasantly surprised the amount of storage...I could fit so much of my stoneware inside....
This is my latest piece I acquired...a small sauce tureen....glad I chose it over the soup tureen...which is much, much larger and I would not have had room to showcase it on one of the shelves...isn't it a beautiful pattern and colour? I've been collecting it for a few years....the first time I saw it was in the window of a long closed giftware shop in the downtown core. I couldn't wait to tell Mr. Seventies about seeing it...and over the next few years each celebration I would usually receive a piece or place setting. Some were gifts of from the various departments I worked in for many years....each piece is very special to me...
We had one of our grand daughters from Nova Scotia visit with us for a few days....self checkout girl in training....we did a bit of shopping, enjoyed lunch at one of her favourite fast food places and enjoyed an evening movie....
She also loves Michaels and wanted to drop in to the store. Who am I to deny her that pleasure? She picked up some Mod Podge and painting supplies...I was awed how quickly staff had the Christmas decor packed up and new items on the shelves....cutest timers ever!! I use the one on my wall oven...but these little kettle timers are adorable!
I am picking up one of these for my bath....they are now on sale...and I received a couple of Michaels gift cards for Christmas ....
We spent a few minutes browsing at Home Sense..where I fell in love with these lamps. If they were taller...I would have them...but they are bedside table lamps...
How pretty is this lamp? Only one in the store....
And I couldn't resist this book for my son-in-law...who reads to his baby girl nightly! She will be well versed when she arrives...
And speaking of baby girl....I felt her move for the first time!! Oh my gosh....talk about an amazing moment!
Please keep them in your prayers today as they travel to the IWK in Halifax for another round of ultrasounds. Their OBGYN assures them the scans are just a precaution...but it is a worry and I'll be on pins and needles until I hear from them and that everything is absolutely how it should be!
Her nursery is looking amazing...and clothes! The girl has quite an extensive wardrobe already!! We all know how quickly babies grow...
And lastly....I did some Boxing Day clothes shopping too! This leather skirt is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! So butter soft...and fits perfectly!! I've been wanting one for ages....but they've always been too pricey...so when this one came on at 1/2 price...in gorgeous chocolate brown....I hit the add to cart button immediately....(not a fan of the boots with the skirt...btw)...
And this pretty scalloped crop sweater will go with it beautifully! I advised Mr Seventies we have to dress up and go out some evening...so I get to wear this outfit...
My current leather gloves were looking a bit worn...and these were 1/2 price as well....I decided to go with brown this time....rather than my normal black....again these are soft and supple leather..soft as butter...
This shirt/dress is just fun...I can pair it with skinny jeans, leggings or tights....
An update on my previous order....not sure if you remember the pink coat I was obsessed with...it arrived and is more gorgeous in person! Fits perfectly too! The sweater dress I returned....I felt it should have been two sizes larger to fit the way I like things to fit. And the boots I ordered....while fit perfect and are so comfortable and warm...arrived in the wrong colour...I ordered a red pair....and these a definately not red....more mauve/plum/dark wine. Otherwise....I do like them....great for quick trips in and out of the vehicle or out with Liesel....
I learned how to put a music playlist on my phone and downloaded an app to store passwords! (one my son in law uses as well). It is so difficult to remember dozens of passwords...and the app makes life so much easier. Of course, you have to set a password to use the app,..but one password is easier to remember than dozens!!
I will update the results of the scans on my grand baby....as well as updates to her nursery! Next month the wall mural will be painted...cannot wait!
Have an awesome day everyone!
