Garden Bounty

I love this time of year...veggie seeds planted in June...are now ready for picking!  On tonight's menu...fresh grown spinach and Island red potatoes!!  Just picked this morning!  Sometimes...we enjoy vegetables that were growing an hour before dinner!!  And all our gardens are "organic"...we never have nor ever will use chemicals of any kind.  We were pesticide free long before it became a "thing".... and have composted since the 80's.

Our soil is rich and fertile...

Remember the blue pumpkin seeds I ordered from Nova Scotia?  I excitedly watch them every day..hopefully they will flower within the next week or so.  After we get some much needed rain!  Here is their progress as of this morning!  Fingers crossed for blue pumpkins!!

Another "first" for us this year...is miniature gladiolas.  We have the regular size glads in the side garden...but Mr. Seventies planted the miniature variety for me...for cut flower arrangements!  They are just starting to open now...I can see yellow and pink blooms coming!

And gorgeous lilies in just about every colour!!!

These ones are so soft and delicate looking!!

And these stunning lilies...are breath taking!

Going to run a few errands and then it's another pool day!!  Very hot and humid...perfect summer day!!
